1. Introduction

Thank you for choosing the Acceo A08 Dash Cam. This device is designed to enhance your driving safety and provide reliable video evidence in case of incidents. It features a 4.3-inch IPS rearview mirror display, dual front and rear cameras, and a range of advanced recording functions. Please read this manual carefully before use to ensure proper installation and operation.

3. Product Overview

The Acceo A08 Dash Cam integrates a front camera and a display into a rearview mirror, providing a discreet and functional recording solution for your vehicle.

Controls and Ports:

The device measures approximately 27cm in width and 8cm in height. The front camera is located on the right side of the mirror unit.

Key features include FHD 1080P recording, 4.3-inch screen, 170° front wide angle and 120° rear wide angle, night vision, loop recording, motion detection, dual cam view, parking monitor, back view, and G-sensor.

4. Installation

4.1. Main Unit Installation (Rearview Mirror Dash Cam)

  1. Attach the fixed bandages to the back of the dash cam unit.
  2. Securely mount the dash cam over your vehicle's existing rearview mirror using the bandages. Ensure it is firmly in place and does not obstruct your view.
  3. Connect the car charger to the USB port on the dash cam and plug the other end into your car's cigarette lighter socket.
  4. Insert a Class 10 or higher speed TF card (up to 64GB) into the TF card slot.

4.2. Rear Camera Installation (Optional)

If your package includes a rear camera, follow these steps:

  1. Mount the rear camera at the back of your vehicle, typically above the license plate or on the rear bumper.
  2. Connect the rear camera's cable to the AV-IN port on the main DVR unit.
  3. Connect the red wire of the rear camera's cable to your car's reverse lamp power's positive pole (+). This enables the automatic display of the rear camera with parking lines when you shift into reverse gear.

Warning: Due to different car models, professional installation is recommended to prevent damage to the recorder. This method is for reference only.

4.3. Buck Line Installation (for 24H Parking Monitoring - Optional)

The buck line allows for continuous power supply to the DVR for 24-hour parking monitoring without occupying the cigarette lighter interface. The DVR is only compatible with cars that have a 12V power supply. A 24V power supply will burn the motherboard. If you want to use 24V, please add a 24V to 12V Converter (BL).

  1. Connect the negative pole (black line) of the buck line to the ground of your car's fuse box.
  2. For 24-hour parking monitoring (DVR works continuously), connect the positive pole (red line) of the buck line to the BAT interface of the car fuse box.
  3. If you want the DVR to stop working after parking, connect the positive pole of the buck line to the ACC interface of the fuse box.

5. Operating Instructions

5.1. Basic Operation

  • Power ON/OFF: Press the ON/OFF button (1) to turn the device on or off.
  • Menu: Press the Menu button (2) to access settings. Use UP (4) and Down (5) to navigate, and OK (6) to confirm.
  • Mode: Press the Mode button (3) to switch between video recording, photo mode, and playback.
  • Switching Camera Views: In recording mode, use the UP/Down buttons to switch between front camera view, rear camera view, or picture-in-picture display.

5.2. Key Features

  • Loop Recording: When enabled, the dash cam will continuously record. When the memory card is full, the oldest video files will be overwritten by new recordings. Videos protected by G-sensor or Parking Monitoring will not be overwritten.
  • G-Sensor: The built-in G-sensor detects sudden impacts or collisions. When triggered, it automatically locks the current video file to prevent it from being overwritten, ensuring critical evidence is preserved.
  • Motion Detection: With motion detection enabled, the DVR will automatically start recording when it detects movement in front of the camera. Recording stops when no motion is detected, conserving memory.
  • Parking Monitor: If the buck line is installed, the DVR can monitor your car 24 hours a day. If an impact is detected while parked, the G-sensor will trigger the DVR to record the event.
  • Wide Dynamic Range (WDR): WDR technology optimizes video and image quality in varying light conditions, ensuring clear recordings whether the environment is too bright or too dark.
  • Reverse Image: When the vehicle is shifted into reverse gear, the rearview camera automatically activates and displays the rear view with parking guidelines on the screen, assisting with safe parking.

7. Maintenance

  • Cleaning: Use a soft, dry cloth to clean the screen and camera lenses. Avoid using abrasive cleaners or solvents.
  • Temperature: Operate the device within recommended temperature ranges. Extreme heat or cold can affect performance and battery life. The built-in cooling chip can withstand up to 75°C.
  • Memory Card: Regularly format your TF card (at least once a month) to ensure optimal performance and prevent data corruption. Always use a high-quality Class 10 TF card.
  • Firmware Updates: Check the manufacturer's website periodically for firmware updates to improve performance and add new features.

8. Troubleshooting

Device does not turn on:
Ensure the car charger is properly connected and the vehicle's power outlet is functioning. The built-in battery is small and only for saving settings, not for operation.
Video quality is poor or blurry:
Check if the camera lenses are clean. Ensure you are using a high-quality Class 10 TF card. Low-quality cards can cause recording issues. Verify that the resolution settings are appropriate.
Loop recording is not working / Memory card fills up:
Ensure loop recording is enabled in the settings. Format the TF card regularly. Check if too many files are being locked by the G-sensor; adjust G-sensor sensitivity if necessary.
Rear camera not displaying or parking lines not appearing:
Verify that the rear camera cable is securely connected to the AV-IN port. Ensure the red wire of the rear camera cable is correctly connected to the positive pole of your car's reverse lamp.
Device restarts unexpectedly:
This could be due to an unstable power supply. Ensure the car charger is providing stable power. If using a buck line, ensure it's correctly installed and compatible with your car's voltage (12V only, 24V requires a converter).

9. User Tips

  • SD Card Choice: Always use a Class 10 or higher speed Micro SD/TF card for reliable recording. The device supports up to 64GB.
  • Parking Monitoring: For effective 24-hour parking monitoring, consider installing the optional buck line to provide continuous power.
  • Professional Installation: If you are unsure about wiring the rear camera or the buck line, especially for different car models, it is highly recommended to seek professional assistance to avoid damage.
  • Regular Checks: Periodically check the dash cam's recording status and review footage to ensure it's functioning correctly.
