Battery Installation and Charging
The UV-K6 supports both a desktop charger and direct Type-C USB charging.
- **Installation**: Insert the battery into the compartment on the back of the radio until it clicks into place.
- **Charging**: Connect the radio to the desktop charger or directly via the Type-C port using a compatible cable and power source. The Type-C charging indicator (13) will show charging status.
Operating Instructions
Power On/Off
To power on the radio, rotate the power/volume knob clockwise. To power off, rotate it counter-clockwise until it clicks.

The UV-K6 supports a wide range of frequencies across 6 bands:
- FM: 65-108 MHz (Receive Only)
- AM: 108-136 MHz (Air Frequency Receive Only)

Wireless Copy Frequency
This feature allows you to quickly copy the frequency and privacy code from another radio.
- **Step 1**: Power on your UV-K6 radio. Press the SWEEP key (6) to enter the "SEARCH" interface. The screen will display "SEARCH SWEEK...".
- **Step 2**: Press and hold the PTT key on the other walkie talkie to transmit its frequency. While it's transmitting, the UV-K6 will search for the transmission frequency and privacy code. Once found, press the MENU key (7) to confirm and store the frequency.
- **Step 3**: Switch to channel mode. The display will show the other person's frequency. You can now communicate normally.
Channel Management
The UV-K6 supports up to 999 memory channels. You can program channels either via computer software or directly through the radio's keypad menu. This includes adding/deleting channels and managing scanning lists.
DTMF (Dual-Tone Multi-Frequency)
The radio supports DTMF signaling for various functions, such as remote control or selective calling.
VOX Function (Voice Operated Exchange)
