3. Setup Guide

3.1 System Requirements

  • Operating System: Windows 7 (32-bit), Windows 7, or Windows 10. (Home editions are not supported).
  • Connection: USB port for wired connection.

3.2 Hardware Connection

  1. Connect the OBD2 Extension Cable to your vehicle's OBD-II port.
  2. Connect the other end of the OBD2 Extension Cable to the VXDIAG VCX NANO device.
  3. Connect the VXDIAG VCX NANO device to your laptop using the provided USB cable.

3.3 Software Installation

The VXDIAG VCX NANO requires specific diagnostic software to function. While the device itself is hardware, the necessary software (e.g., for GM, Opel) must be acquired and installed separately. Once the software is installed, you will typically use the 'VX-Manager' driver application to manage the device and its licenses.

Important: We do not provide the diagnostic software or online accounts. Please ensure you obtain the software through legal channels.

4.1 ECU Programming & Coding

This function allows for advanced vehicle customization and repair:

  • Online/Offline Programming: Supports programming and coding within the online Service Programming System (SPS).
  • ECU Software Upgrade and Calibration: Update and fine-tune ECU software.
  • ECU Replacement Flashing and Programming: Flash new or replacement ECUs.
  • Modifications: Customize vehicle settings.
  • ECU Matching: Ensure proper communication and function between ECUs.
  • Refresh Hidden Features: Unlock features not enabled by default.
  • Activate High-End Features: Enable advanced functionalities.
  • Customize OE-Settings: Adjust original equipment settings.

4.3 Service Functions (30+ Special Functions)

The VCX NANO NX600 supports numerous scheduled service and maintenance functions:

  • Oil Lamp/Oil Reset: Resets the engine oil life system.
  • Electronic Parking Brake Reset (EPB): Maintains the electronic braking system, deactivating/activating brake control, assisting with fluid control, and setting brakes after replacement.
  • Steering Angle Sensor (SAS) Calibration: Clears fault memories and calibrates the steering wheel position.
  • ABS Bleeding: Performs bi-directional tests on the Anti-lock Braking System.
  • Tire Pressure Monitor System (TPMS) Reset: Looks up tire sensor IDs, performs programming and reset procedures.
  • Gear Learning: Monitors camshaft position sensor signals for engine running procedures.
  • Injector Coding: Addresses issues with leaking or dead injectors.
  • Battery Maintenance System (BMS) Reset: Re-matches control modules, monitors charge state, registers battery replacement, and activates rest state.
  • Diesel Particulate Filter (DPF) Regeneration: Functions for DPF regeneration, component replacement teach-in, and DPF teach-in after ECU replacement.

4.4 Action Test (Bi-directional Control)

The action test, also known as bi-directional control, involves sending and retrieving information from a vehicle control module. This function allows you to command the control module to perform specific actions, such as system tests, actuator tests, functional tests, inspection tests, reprogramming, or reinitialization. This significantly reduces diagnostic time.

Example: If you suspect a fuel pump issue, you can use the action test to send a fuel pump command and observe the fuel pressure, helping to determine if the problem lies with the pump circuit or the pump itself.

4.5 Full OBD2 Functions

The device supports all 10 modes of OBD2 diagnostics:

  1. Reading Codes: Displays detailed Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTCs).
  2. Erasing Codes & Reset: Turns off the Check Engine Light (MIL), clears codes, and resets monitors.
  3. Data Stream: Reads and displays live ECU/PCM data streams, with graphical plotting and freeze frame data storage.
  4. I/M Readiness Status: Shows if emission-related systems are operating correctly and ready for testing.
  5. Read Live Data Stream: Displays continuous data stream information in live graphic (waveform) format.
  6. View Freeze Frame Data: Checks vehicle conditions recorded by the on-board computer when an emission-related fault occurs.
  7. O2 Sensor Test: Retrieves and displays O2 sensor monitor test results.
  8. On-Board Monitor Test: Retrieves and displays test results for emission-related powertrain components and systems.
  9. Read Vehicle Information: Displays VIN (Vehicle Identification Number), CID (Calibration ID), and CVN (Calibration Verification Number).
  10. Component Test: Actuates specific vehicle components via commands from the scanner to test their operability.

4.6 AUTO Read VIN

This function quickly reads the vehicle's VIN and initiates diagnostics on the selected system, allowing technicians to easily identify vehicle information such as manufacturer, model, year, and place of manufacture.

5. Maintenance

5.1 Device License and Firmware Updates

The VXDIAG VCX NANO NX600 comes with a lifetime free license. If the license time expires, you can directly update it using the 'VX-Manager' driver application. Firmware updates are also provided free for life, ensuring your device remains compatible with the latest vehicle models and diagnostic protocols.
