1. Introduction

The Q28-2X is an all-in-one wireless helmet device combining a Bluetooth headset, intercom system, and a 1080p HD camera. Designed for motorcycle riders, it offers communication, recording capabilities, and multimedia functions in a durable, waterproof unit.

3. Product Overview

  1. Multi-function Button: Power on/off, Answer/Hang up calls, Play/Pause music. Also serves as Charging Indicator (Red), Wireless Indicator (Blue), and Intercom Indicator (Green).
  2. Intercom Button: Initiates and ends intercom communication.
  3. Speaker/Microphone Connector: Port for connecting the speaker and microphone unit.
  4. Charging Port: Type-C port for charging the device.
  5. Logger Marker: Button for marking specific points in recordings.
  6. Recorder Memory Card Slot: Insert TF card here.
  7. Volume + / Next Song Button: Increases volume, skips to the next song.
  8. Volume - / Previous Song / Voice Assistant Button: Decreases volume, goes to the previous song, activates voice assistant.
  9. Photo/WiFi On/Off Button: Toggles photo mode or WiFi hotspot.
  10. Recorder On/Off Button: Turns on/off the recorder, starts/stops recording.
  11. Logger Indicator Light: Blue for logger, Green for WiFi.
  12. Camera: 120° wide-angle lens for video and photo capture.

4. Setup

4.1 Mounting the Device

The Q28-2X features a classic split installation design for simple and secure attachment to most helmet types (Modular, Motocross, Open face, Full Face, Flip Up, Universal).

  1. Attach the base securely to the side of your helmet using the provided Velcro installation package. Ensure it is firmly in place.
  2. Slide the Q28-2X host unit onto the mounted base until it clicks into position.
  3. Connect the speaker microphone unit to the Speaker/Microphone Connector (3) on the Q28-2X host. Route the wires and position the speakers inside the helmet's ear pockets and the microphone near your mouth for optimal audio.

4.2 Inserting the TF Card

The Q28-2X supports TF card expansion up to 256GB. A 32GB high-speed memory card is included.

  1. Locate the Recorder Memory Card Slot (6) on the device.
  2. Gently insert the TF card into the slot until it clicks into place. Ensure the card is oriented correctly.
  3. To remove, push the card gently inwards until it springs out.

4.3 Charging the Device

Before first use, fully charge the Q28-2X. Connect the Type-C data cable to the Charging Port (4) and a suitable USB power source.

  • The Charging Indicator (Red light on Multi-function Button) will illuminate during charging.
  • The indicator will turn off or change color (refer to specific manual for exact behavior) when fully charged.

5. Operating Instructions

5.1 Power On/Off

  • To Power On: Press and hold the Multi-function Button (1) for approximately 3 seconds until the indicator lights illuminate.
  • To Power Off: Press and hold the Multi-function Button (1) for approximately 3 seconds until the indicator lights turn off.

5.2 Bluetooth Pairing

The Q28-2X connects to your mobile phone via Bluetooth for calls and music.

  1. Ensure the device is powered on.
  2. Activate Bluetooth on your mobile phone and search for available devices.
  3. Select "Q28-2X" from the list of devices to pair. The Wireless Indicator (Blue light on Multi-function Button) will confirm successful pairing.

5.3 Phone Calls

  • Answer Call: Incoming calls are automatically answered by voice, synchronized with your mobile phone's ringtone. No manual operation is needed.
  • End Call: Press the Multi-function Button (1) once.
  • Reject Call: Press and hold the Multi-function Button (1) for 2 seconds.

5.4 Music Playback

  • Play/Pause: Press the Multi-function Button (1) once.
  • Next Song: Press the Volume + / Next Song Button (7) once.
  • Previous Song: Press the Volume - / Previous Song Button (8) once.
  • Adjust Volume: Press and hold Volume + (7) or Volume - (8) to increase or decrease volume.

5.5 Intercom Communication

The Q28-2X supports 1000m two-person intercom and is compatible with approximately 90% of other wireless headset intercoms on the market.

  • Start Intercom: Press the Intercom Button (2) once. The Intercom Indicator (Green light on Multi-function Button) will show activity.
  • End Intercom: Press the Intercom Button (2) once again.
  • Pairing with another Q28-2X: Refer to the detailed pairing instructions in the included manual for specific steps to link two Q28-2X units.
  • Pairing with Third-Party Intercoms: The device is designed for broad compatibility. Follow the pairing instructions for your specific third-party headset and the Q28-2X's intercom pairing mode (usually initiated by holding the Intercom Button for an extended period).

5.6 Video Recording and Photography

The Q28-2X features a 1080P HD camera with a 120° wide-angle lens.

  • Start/Stop Recording: Press the Recorder On/Off Button (10) once to start recording. Press again to stop. The Logger Indicator Light (11) will indicate recording status (blue light).
  • Take Photo: Press the Photo/WiFi On/Off Button (9) once to take a photo.
  • 360° Fuselage Rotation: The camera body can be rotated 360 degrees to adjust the shooting angle, supporting both horizontal (16:9) and vertical (9:16) video ratios.

5.7 WiFi Hotspot and Mobile App Connectivity

The built-in WiFi hotspot allows direct connection to your mobile phone for real-time preview, fast advance, playback of live video, and downloading/viewing photos and videos.

  1. Activate WiFi Hotspot: Press and hold the Photo/WiFi On/Off Button (9) for 2 seconds. The WiFi On Light (Green light on Logger Indicator Light 11) will illuminate.
  2. Connect Phone: On your mobile phone, go to WiFi settings and connect to the Q28-2X's hotspot (SSID and password usually found in the included manual or on the device itself).
  3. Use App: Open the dedicated mobile application (refer to the included manual for app name and download instructions) to access features like real-time preview, playback, and file management.

6. Maintenance

6.1 Cleaning

  • Wipe the device with a soft, damp cloth. Do not use harsh chemicals or abrasive cleaners.
  • Ensure the charging port and speaker/microphone connector are free of dust and debris.

6.2 Waterproofing

The Q28-2X has an IPX6 dustproof and waterproof rating, meaning it is protected against high-pressure water jets from any direction. This allows for riding in rain or shine.

While waterproof, avoid submerging the device in water for extended periods or exposing it to extreme water pressure.

6.3 Battery Care

  • Charge the device regularly, even if not in use, to maintain battery health.
  • Avoid exposing the device to extreme temperatures (hot or cold) as this can degrade battery performance.
  • Do not attempt to replace the built-in battery yourself. Contact support if battery issues arise.
