3. Setup

3.1 Power Supply Methods

The F918 board supports multiple power input methods:

  1. **External Power Supply (Alligator Clips):** Connect an external power supply using the provided alligator clips to the VIN+ and VIN- terminals on the board.
  2. **Type-C Input:** Connect a Type-C cable to the 'USB-IN' port on the board and to a suitable power adapter.
  3. **USB Output (Input):** The 'USB-OUT' port can also be used as a power input. Connect a USB cable from a power source to this port.

3.2 Connecting an External Pointer Gauge (Optional)

If you wish to connect an external pointer meter for current/voltage measurement, follow these steps:

  1. Remove the circuit terminals from the upper right corner of the board using tweezers.
  2. Plug in the standard terminal cable from your pointer meter into these terminals.

Note: If you do not use the pointer meter, ensure the terminals are plugged back into the circuit, otherwise the board will not power on.

4. Operating Instructions

4.1 Basic Operation Steps

  1. **Energize the Board:** Power the battery detection board using one of the methods described in Section 3.1.
  2. **Snap on the Battery Connector:** Connect the mobile phone battery to the corresponding connector on the board. The board automatically identifies the positive and negative poles, ensuring safe connection regardless of orientation.
  3. **One-Touch Activation:** Click the activation button to initiate automatic fast charging and activation.
  4. **Automatic Power Off:** The board will automatically power off when the battery is fully charged, indicated by the blue indicator light turning off.

4.2 Key Features

  • **4.2V Regulated Output:** Provides a stable 4.2V output for safe charging.
  • **Real-time Current/Voltage Monitoring:** The LED digital display shows real-time output voltage and current values. This also allows measurement of unloaded/load voltage of USB powered devices.
  • **Automatic Identification of Positive and Negative Poles:** Internal recognition circuitry automatically adjusts output voltage and current, ensuring safety and accuracy.
  • **5V/9V Toggle Switch:** An industry-pioneering switch allows selection between 5V and 9V supply voltage, enabling charging for 9V batteries.
  • **No Need for External Power for Voltage Check (Batteries below 5V):** For batteries with voltage below 5V, simply snap the battery onto the board (with the voltage switch set to 5V) to check its voltage without external power. This allows you to judge remaining battery power based on the data.

  • **Battery Not Activating/Charging:**
    • Check that the battery is correctly snapped into the connector.
    • Ensure the voltage switch is set appropriately (5V for most phone batteries, 9V for 9V batteries).
    • If the battery voltage is below 5V, try checking its voltage first without external power to assess its state.
  • **Incorrect Readings:**
    • Verify that the battery is securely connected.
    • Ensure the power supply is stable.

Important Warning: Do not fasten a 9V battery when the board is not powered on, as this may burn the components of the board.

  • **Android Compatibility:** The F918 board is designed to support a wide range of Android devices, including Motorola models, due to its extensive compatibility list (over 400+ models).
  • **USB-C Cable:** For optimal performance and convenience, ensure you have a USB-C cable available for powering the board, especially if your existing cables are older standards like V8.
