Programming Instructions
To program your new remote control, follow these steps:
- Approach your motor (receiver unit) so you are standing a few feet away from it.
- On the motor (receiver unit), press the programming button (often labeled '1' or 'Learn'). Let it go.
- Press a button on your new remote control for 1 second.
- Wait 10 seconds.
- Your new remote control is now programmed.
Operating Instructions
Once programmed, simply press the desired button on your remote control to activate your garage door or gate opener. The remote will transmit the rolling code signal to the receiver.
Maintenance
Battery Replacement
The remote control uses a 3V CR2032 coin cell battery (or 12V 27A for SMG-015 models). When the remote's indicator light dims or the transmission range decreases significantly, it's time to replace the battery. To replace:
- Carefully open the remote control casing.
- Remove the old battery.
- Insert a new battery of the correct type, ensuring correct polarity.
- Close the remote control casing securely.
Troubleshooting
Reduced Transmission Range
The radio transmission distance is typically 20-100m in an open area. However, the range can be significantly reduced by interference from physical obstructions. If you experience a reduced range, consider the following:
- Obstructions: Walls, doors, trees, or other physical barriers between the remote and the receiver can block the signal.
- Interference: Other electronic devices operating on similar frequencies can cause interference.
- Battery Level: A low battery can also reduce the effective range. Refer to the Maintenance section for battery replacement.
If the remote is not responding after programming, ensure you have followed the programming steps precisely and that the receiver unit is powered on.
