Video 1: Programming Rolling Code Remote Control and Tuya App Usage

Momentary Working Model:

  1. Learning Transmitter’s Codes: Press “learn 1” or “learn 2” button on the receiver for 1 second. The “learn_led” light will illuminate. Then, press the desired button on your remote control transmitter until the “learn_led” flashes and turns off. The transmitter’s code has now been stored. Repeat these steps for any other transmitters you wish to program.
  2. Erasing Transmitter’s Codes: Press and hold “learn 1” or “learn 2” button on the receiver until the “learn_led” light illuminates and then goes out. All previously stored transmitter codes will be erased.

7. Maintenance

7.1. Keypad Battery Replacement

The keypad batteries (2 x CR2032) have an estimated life of 2 years with typical usage (4 operations per day). Replace them when the keypad's performance degrades or it stops responding.

7.2. Remote Control Battery Replacement

The RF remote control uses a 12V 23A battery. Replace it when the remote's range decreases or it fails to operate the receiver.

8. Troubleshooting

8.1. Device Not Functioning / Cannot Change Codes

If you are experiencing issues with the device not functioning or being unable to modify codes, please check the following:

  • Power Supply: Ensure the receiver is correctly powered with the specified voltage (DC/AC 7-32V or AC 85-250V).
  • Wiring: Double-check all wiring connections between the receiver and your garage/gate opener control board as per the wiring diagram (Figure 6). Incorrect wiring is a common cause of malfunction.
  • Programming Steps: Review the programming steps for the RF remote control (Section 6.2) carefully. Ensure you are pressing the 'learn' button for the correct duration and then pressing the remote button promptly.
  • Code Compatibility: Verify that your remote control is compatible with the receiver (fixed code, learning code, or rolling code 433.92MHz). The receiver is not compatible with PIC serial code.
  • App Connection: For app control issues, ensure your phone is connected to a 2.4GHz Wi-Fi network, Bluetooth is enabled, and you have the correct Wi-Fi password. Try re-adding the device to the Tuya Smart app if necessary.
  • Resetting: If programming issues persist, try erasing all stored codes by pressing and holding the 'learn' button for approximately 20 seconds until the LED goes out, then attempt to reprogram.

9. User Tips

  • For optimal performance and security, ensure your Wi-Fi network is stable and password-protected.
  • Regularly check the batteries in your keypad and remote control to avoid unexpected failures.
  • Utilize the app's scheduling features to automate routine tasks, enhancing convenience and energy efficiency.
  • When sharing device control, ensure you only share with trusted individuals.
