1. Product Overview

The AAI RF Vector Antenna Analyzer is a versatile instrument designed for measuring RF circuit impedance, SWR, S11, and other parameters across a wide frequency range. It is suitable for various applications including walkie-talkie UV RF bands, mobile communication antennas (2G/3G/4G), short-distance discrete modules (315, 433, 869, 915, 2450), Wi-Fi 2450 band (excluding 5.8GHz), Bluetooth, aerospace RF, and RFID (915, 2450).

3. Setup

3.1 Initial Charging

Before first use, ensure the device is fully charged. Connect the analyzer to a mobile phone charger with an output capacity of 1A or more using the provided Mini-USB cable. The charging current limit is 400mA, and a full charge from empty takes approximately 5 hours. The charging indicator light will show the charging status.

3.2 Power On/Off

  • To Power On: In the power-off state, press and hold the CTRL key (left direction key), then press the OK key. The product will power on.
  • To Power Off: In the power-on state, long press the power key (OK key) for more than 2 seconds. Release the key, and the instrument will power off.

3.3 RF Port Connection

The RF port is an SMA-K connector. When connecting antennas or other RF components, handle with care to avoid damage from falling, bumping, or crushing, as its strength is relatively lower than other metals.

4. Operating Instructions

4.1 Interface Navigation

The instrument features four main interfaces: Single Point Measurement, Scan Function, System Information, and Calibration. The N1201SA+ model also includes Calibration Cable Length Measurement and Characteristic Impedance Measurement interfaces.

  • Upon power-on, the device defaults to the Single Point Measurement interface.
  • Use the 'M' (Main Menu) button to switch between the "Single Point Measurement" and "Scan Function" interfaces.
  • Press the 'M' button again while in the "System Information" or "Calibration" interfaces to cycle through them.
  • Use the left (<-) and right (->) direction keys to move the cursor or adjust parameters.
  • Press the 'OK' key to confirm selections.

4.2 Measurement Parameters

The analyzer measures Resistance (R), Reactance (X), Voltage Standing Wave Ratio (VSWR), and S11 (Return Loss).

4.3 Calibration

Calibration is crucial for accurate measurements, especially for precise readings or when the device under test is connected via a cable rather than directly to the port.

  • When to Calibrate:
    • For precise measurements, use calibration components.
    • When measuring a device connected via a cable, and you need accurate impedance and reactance parameters.
  • Calibration Failure: If calibration fails and the instrument cannot measure:
    1. Enter the calibration interface.
    2. Adjust 'USR CORR' to 'SYS CORR'.
    3. Press the 'OK' key to confirm.

5. Maintenance

5.1 Battery Care

  • Always charge the instrument promptly when the battery is low to prevent damage.
  • If the device is not used for an extended period, it is recommended to charge it at least once a year to maintain battery health.

5.2 RF Port Protection

The SMA-K RF port is delicate. Exercise caution to avoid physical impact, dropping, or crushing, which can lead to damage.

5.3 Cleaning

Use a soft, dry cloth to clean the device. Avoid using harsh chemicals or abrasive materials.

6. Troubleshooting
