Setup
Before initial use, ensure the unit is placed on a stable, flat surface with adequate ventilation. The product is pre-assembled and ready for use after a simple test.
Input Voltage Selection
The voltage converter features an AC Input Selector on the rear panel. This selector allows you to choose the appropriate input voltage (110V or 220V) based on your local power supply.

Figure 5: Rear panel with AC Input Selector and warning label.
WARNING: PLEASE SELECT THE CORRECT INPUT VOLTAGE BEFORE USING. WHEN THE INPUT VOLTAGE IS 110V (220V), PLEASE TURN THE VOLTAGE SELECTOR TO 110V (220V). THEN INSERT THE PLUG INTO THE 110V (220V) CITY POWER, AND TURN ON THE POWER ON/OFF SWITCH FOR REGULAR USE. THE APPLIANCE CONNECTED MUST BE COMPLIED WITH THE CORRECT VOLTAGE NOTED ON THE SOCKET.
Note: The input selection is located in the upper row on the back of the machine. You will need to connect the power wire yourself.
Operating Instructions
To Convert 110V to 220V
- Ensure the appliance to be plugged in uses fewer watts than the transformer's rated power (8KW / 10KVA).
- Insert the voltage tap plug (located on the rear of the transformer) into the pair of holes marked "110" for 110V input.
- Plug the transformer's power cord into a 110V power source.
- Turn the power switch (ON/OFF) on the front panel to the 'ON' position.
- 220V will be available at the front panel outlets marked "220" volts.
To Convert 220V to 110V
- Ensure the appliance to be plugged in uses fewer watts than the transformer's rated power (8KW / 10KVA).
- Insert the voltage tap plug (located on the rear of the transformer) into the pair of holes corresponding to the local 220V voltage standard. Double-check to ensure no error has been made.
- Attach the appropriate round-pin adapter (if necessary) to the transformer's power cord and connect it into a 200V, 220V, or 230V power source.
- Turn the power switch (ON/OFF) on the front panel to the 'ON' position.
- 110V will be available at the front panel outlets marked "110" volts.
Important Note: The front sockets support electrical devices with a current of up to 13A. Devices requiring more than 13A must be connected to the rear output terminals (AC Output Selector).

Maintenance
The JOHSUN TEC DT-10000VA voltage converter is designed for durability and requires minimal maintenance.
- Cleaning: Due to its simple construction and smooth surface, the unit can be easily cleaned by wiping off stains with a dry rag. Ensure the unit is unplugged before cleaning.
- Ventilation: Ensure the dense cooling holes on the sides of the unit are not obstructed to allow for proper heat dissipation.
- Storage: Store the converter in a dry, cool place away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures when not in use.
Troubleshooting
If you encounter issues with your voltage converter, please refer to the following common troubleshooting steps:
- No Power: Check if the power cord is securely plugged into both the converter and the wall outlet. Ensure the power switch is in the 'ON' position. Verify the input voltage selector on the rear is set correctly for your power source.
- Appliance Not Working: Confirm that the appliance's power consumption (watts) does not exceed the converter's rated power (8KW). Ensure the appliance is plugged into the correct output voltage socket (110V or 220V) on the converter.
- Overload/Over-temperature Protection Activated: If the unit shuts off unexpectedly, it may be due to an overload or over-temperature condition. Disconnect the appliance, turn off the converter, and allow it to cool down. Reduce the load if an overload is suspected.
- Unusual Noise: A slight hum is normal for transformers. However, if you hear loud or unusual noises, disconnect the unit immediately and contact customer support.
User Tips
Here are some helpful tips for optimizing your experience with the voltage converter:
- Load Capacity: For inductive loads (e.g., motors, compressors, refrigerators, juicers, coffee machines), it is recommended to choose a transformer with a rated power of 3-5 times the load power to ensure normal and safe operation. The DT-10000VA has a product capacity of 10KVA and a rated power of 8KW.
- Appliance Compatibility: This converter is versatile and can be used with most household appliances, including coffee makers, kettles, rice cookers, juicers, air purifiers, toilet seats, refrigerators, electric toothbrushes, massagers, and yogurt makers.
- Portability: The integrated portable hand straps make it easy to transport the unit when needed.
