7. Operating Instructions
The CM02 offers a wide range of measurement capabilities. Turn the rotary dial to select the desired function. Use the 'FUNC' button to cycle through sub-functions within a dial setting (e.g., AC/DC voltage, diode/continuity).

Figure 7: All measurement functions
7.1 AC/DC Voltage Measurement
- Turn the rotary dial to the 'V' position. Use the 'FUNC' button to select AC or DC voltage.
- Connect the test leads in parallel to the circuit or component under test.
- Read the voltage value on the display.

Figure 8: AC/DC Voltage Measurement
7.2 AC/DC Current Measurement (Clamp Function)
- Turn the rotary dial to the 'A' position. Use the 'FUNC' button to select AC or DC current.
- Open the clamp jaws and enclose only one conductor of the circuit.
- Read the current value on the display.

Figure 9: AC/DC Current Measurement
7.3 Resistance Measurement
- Turn the rotary dial to the 'Ω' position.
- Ensure the circuit is de-energized. Connect the test leads across the component to measure resistance.
- Read the resistance value on the display.
7.4 Capacitance Measurement
- Turn the rotary dial to the 'Capacitance' symbol position.
- Ensure the capacitor is fully discharged before connecting the test leads.
- Connect the test leads across the capacitor.
- Read the capacitance value on the display.
7.5 Continuity Test
- Turn the rotary dial to the 'Continuity' symbol position.
- Ensure the circuit is de-energized. Connect the test leads across the circuit path.
- An audible beep indicates continuity (low resistance).
7.6 Diode Test
- Turn the rotary dial to the 'Diode' symbol position.
- Ensure the diode is isolated from the circuit. Connect the red test lead to the anode and the black test lead to the cathode.
- Read the forward voltage drop on the display. Reverse the leads to check for open circuit.
7.7 Frequency Measurement
- Turn the rotary dial to the 'Hz%' position.
- Connect the test leads to the circuit where frequency needs to be measured.
- Read the frequency (Hz) or duty cycle (%) on the display.
7.8 Temperature Measurement
- Turn the rotary dial to the '°C/°F' position.
- Connect the thermocouple to the input jacks.
- Place the thermocouple probe on the object or area whose temperature is to be measured.
- Read the temperature on the display. Use the 'FUNC' button to switch between Celsius and Fahrenheit.
7.9 NCV (Non-Contact Voltage) Detection
- Turn the rotary dial to the 'NCV/LIVE' position.
- Bring the top of the clamp meter near the conductor or outlet.
- The meter will emit an audible and visual alarm (LED indicator) if AC voltage is detected. The display will show 'L' for low voltage or 'H' for high voltage.

Figure 10: NCV Function
7.10 VFD (Variable Frequency Drive) Measurement
- Turn the rotary dial to the 'VFD' position. This mode effectively reduces interference from high-frequency signals.
- Perform AC voltage or current measurement as described above.

Figure 11: VFD Function
7.11 Inrush Current Measurement

8. Maintenance
8.1 Cleaning
Wipe the meter with a dry, soft cloth. Do not use abrasives or solvents. Keep the display clean and free from dust.
8.2 Storage
When not in use for extended periods, remove the batteries to prevent leakage. Store the meter in its protective storage bag in a cool, dry place, away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures.
8.3 Battery Replacement
When the low battery indicator appears on the display, replace the batteries promptly to ensure accurate measurements. Refer to section 6.1 for battery installation instructions.
9. Troubleshooting
- No display/Power issues: Check battery installation and ensure batteries are not depleted. Replace if necessary.
- Inaccurate readings: Ensure test leads are properly connected and not damaged. Verify the correct function mode is selected. Clean the test lead tips and input jacks.
- No continuity beep: Check if the circuit is de-energized and the test leads are making good contact.
- NCV not detecting: Ensure the NCV sensor is close enough to the live conductor.
10. User Tips
- Always start with the highest range when measuring unknown values to prevent overload.
- Utilize the data hold function when taking measurements in hard-to-reach areas to easily record the reading.
