1. Introduction

The ATU-100 Pro+ is an automatic antenna tuner designed for amateur radio applications, supporting a wide frequency range of 1.8 to 55 MHz. It features a 0.96-inch OLED display for clear information presentation, an internal 3.6V, 1350mAh rechargeable lithium battery for portability, and robust power handling up to 120W (with a maximum measurable power of 150W). Its user-friendly interface allows for customizable settings, ensuring precise and versatile power measurement and efficient tuning.

3. Setup

3.1 Unpacking and Inspection

Carefully unpack the ATU-100 Pro+ antenna tuner and check for any signs of damage. Ensure all components are present:

3.2 Charging the Battery

Before initial use, fully charge the internal 3.6V, 1350mAh lithium battery using the provided USB cable. Connect the USB cable to the 'charge' port on the front panel of the tuner and to a standard USB power source (e.g., computer USB port, USB wall adapter). The charging current is 1A. A red 'charge' indicator light will typically illuminate during charging and turn off or change color when fully charged.

3.3 Connecting the Antenna and Radio

The ATU-100 Pro+ features two coaxial connectors on the rear panel: 'ANT' for the antenna and 'RFIN' for the radio (transceiver) output.

4. Operating Instructions

4.1 Powering On/Off

To power on the device, toggle the 'POWER' switch located on the front panel to the 'ON' position. The 0.96-inch OLED display will illuminate, showing operational parameters. To power off, toggle the 'POWER' switch to the 'OFF' position.

4.2 Automatic Tuning

The ATU-100 Pro+ is designed for automatic antenna tuning. Once powered on and connected, it will automatically attempt to find the best match for your antenna. You can initiate a manual tuning cycle by pressing the 'TUNE' button on the front panel.

4.3 Display Information

The 0.96-inch OLED display provides real-time information about the tuner's status and antenna performance. Key parameters typically displayed include:

  • PWR: Current power output (in Watts).
  • SWR: Standing Wave Ratio.
  • L: Inductance value (in µH).
  • C: Capacitance value (in pF).

4.4 Customizable Settings

5. Maintenance

5.1 General Care

  • Keep the device clean and free from dust and moisture. Use a soft, dry cloth for cleaning.
  • Avoid exposing the tuner to extreme temperatures or direct sunlight for prolonged periods.
  • Ensure proper ventilation during operation.

5.2 Battery Care

  • Recharge the battery regularly, especially if the device will not be used for an extended period.
  • Avoid fully discharging the battery frequently to prolong its lifespan.
  • If the device is stored for a long time, charge it to about 50% every few months.
