Introduction
The Electronic DIY LED Fingertip Gyroscope Kit (Model TJ-56-271) is a fun and educational project designed for electronic welding practice. Once assembled, this three-leaf gyroscope features an LED display that creates various dynamic patterns when spun. This manual provides detailed instructions for assembly, operation, maintenance, and troubleshooting to help you get the most out of your kit.
Package Contents
The kit includes all necessary components for assembly. Please verify that all parts are present before beginning assembly. The exact contents may vary slightly depending on the specific kit variant (e.g., with or without a downloader).
- PCB (Printed Circuit Board)
- Transparent shell components (if included)
- LEDs (Red and Blue)
- Hall sensor
- Switch
- Resistors, capacitors, and other electronic components
- Bearing
- Fasteners (screws, nuts)

Assembly Instructions
This kit requires basic soldering skills. Please ensure you have the necessary tools (soldering iron, solder, wire cutters, etc.) and follow safety precautions, including working in a well-ventilated area.
- Component Identification: Refer to the circuit diagram and the labeled parts diagram to identify each component.
- Soldering Components: Carefully solder all electronic components (resistors, capacitors, LEDs, Hall sensor, switch, etc.) onto the PCB according to the circuit diagram. Pay close attention to component polarity where applicable (e.g., LEDs). Ensure all solder joints are clean and secure.

- Battery Installation: Insert three button batteries into the designated battery compartment. Ensure correct polarity.
Operating Instructions
- Power On: Locate the small switch (S1) on the PCB. Press the switch to power on the device.

- Spinning the Gyroscope: Hold the center bearing firmly between your thumb and forefinger. Use your other hand to flick one of the leaves to make the gyroscope spin.
- LED Display: As the gyroscope spins, the integrated red and blue LEDs will light up, creating various dynamic patterns due to the persistence of vision effect.
- Changing Patterns: The gyroscope is pre-programmed with multiple patterns. To cycle through the available patterns, briefly press the switch (S1) while the gyroscope is spinning.

Maintenance
- Battery Replacement: When the LED patterns become dim or stop working, it's time to replace the three button batteries. Carefully open the shell (if applicable) and replace the batteries, ensuring correct polarity.
- Cleaning: Use a soft, dry cloth to wipe the gyroscope. Avoid using liquids or abrasive cleaners, as they may damage the electronic components or the transparent shell.
- Storage: Store the gyroscope in a dry, cool place away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures. If storing for an extended period, consider removing the batteries to prevent leakage.
Troubleshooting
- LEDs not lighting up:
- Check if the batteries are correctly installed and have sufficient charge.
- Ensure the power switch is in the "ON" position.
- If this is a newly assembled kit, double-check all solder joints for cold joints or bridges. Verify component polarity.
- Gyroscope not spinning smoothly:
- Check the central bearing for any obstructions or damage.
- Ensure the shell components are not rubbing against the spinning parts.
- Patterns not changing:
- Ensure the gyroscope is spinning fast enough for the Hall sensor to detect rotation.
- Verify the switch (S1) is functioning correctly.
