Introduction
This manual provides detailed instructions for the safe and effective use of your HILDA 4D 16 Lines Green Laser Level. Please read this manual thoroughly before operation and keep it for future reference. This precision instrument is designed for various leveling and alignment tasks, offering high accuracy and ease of use.
Safety Precautions
To ensure safe operation and prevent injury or damage to the device, please observe the following safety guidelines:
- Laser Radiation: Do not look directly at the laser beam. The device uses a Class II laser, which is generally harmless to human eyes under brief exposure, but direct and prolonged viewing should be avoided.
- Physical Handling: Avoid heavy pressing, vibrating, throwing, or dropping the instrument. It is a precision tool and can be damaged by rough handling.
- Storage: Store the product in a dry, ventilated, constant temperature, and dust-free environment. Keep it away from corrosive materials.
- Battery: Ensure the battery is properly installed with correct polarity. Remove the battery if the device will not be used for a long time to prevent leakage. Fully charge the battery before first use; do not operate while charging.
- Cleaning: Wipe the outer glass frequently with a clean cotton cloth to ensure optimal light transmission. Do not use organic solvents to clean the instrument.
- Disassembly: Non-professionals should not attempt to disassemble or repair the machine.
- Protective Gear: It is recommended to use protective glasses when working with the laser line.

Operating Instructions
The HILDA 4D 16 Lines Green Laser Level offers both auto-leveling and manual modes for various applications.
- Power On: Push the main power switch forward to the "ON" position. The machine will start working. The horizontal window will automatically open, producing four horizontal laser rays.
- Auto-Leveling Mode: If the tilt angle of the device is within ±3°, the laser level will automatically self-level. If the tilt angle exceeds 3°, the device will continuously sound an alarm and the laser line will flash, indicating it is out of range. Adjust the level using the legs or mounting until the alarm stops.
- Controlling Laser Lines:
- Horizontal Lines (H): Touch the 'H' button on the control panel (or remote) to control the horizontal lines (turn on/off).
- Vertical Lines (V): Touch the 'V' button on the control panel (or remote) once to open one vertical window. Touch again to open a second vertical window. A third touch will close both vertical windows.
- Pulse Function (Slash button): Use the 'Slash' button for pulse mode, often used with a laser receiver for outdoor or long-distance work.
- Manual Mode (Diagonal Function): Long-press the 'Slash' button for more than 3 seconds. A click will be heard, and the diagonal function will activate. In this mode, you can adjust the laser to any desired angle without triggering the alarm or flashing. Long-press the 'Slash' button again for more than 3 seconds to release this function and return to normal operation.
- Remote Control: Use the provided remote control to switch between horizontal and vertical lines, and activate the pulse function. Remote control styles may vary (see Figure 7).
- Usage Example: The laser level can be used for tasks such as tiling, wall alignment, and other construction or DIY projects requiring precise leveling.

Accuracy Check (Calibration)
It is important to check the accuracy of your laser level before each use, especially for critical tasks. The following method can be used to verify the horizontal line accuracy:
- Setup: Place the measuring instrument on a stable surface. Align the laser line closer to a wall (Wall A) and mark the center of the laser line's intersection (Point I).
- Rotate 180°: Rotate the measuring instrument 180 degrees. Level the instrument and mark the intersection of the laser line on Wall B (Point II).
- Move to Wall B: Move the measuring instrument closer to Wall B (without rotating it). Start the instrument and level it. Adjust the height (using a tripod or spacer if necessary) so the laser line's intersection is accurately projected on Point II of Wall B.
- Rotate 180° Again: Rotate the measuring instrument 180 degrees again, without changing its height. Adjust the instrument so the vertical laser line passes through Point I on Wall A. Mark the light intersection point on Wall A (Point III).
- Calculate Deviation: The difference 'd' between Point I and Point III on Wall A is the actual height deviation of the measuring instrument.
Maximum Allowable Deviation: The maximum allowable deviation (dmax) can be calculated using the formula: dmax = 2 * wall spacing * 0.2 mm/m.
For example, if the wall spacing is 5 meters, then dmax = 2 * 5 meters * 0.2 mm/m = 2 mm. The distance between the marks (Point I and Point III) should not exceed 2 mm.

Maintenance
Proper maintenance ensures the longevity and accuracy of your laser level.
Daily Maintenance
- Store the machine in a dry, ventilated, constant temperature, and dust-free place.
- Wipe the shell and glass frequently with a clean cotton cloth to ensure optimal light transmission.
- If not in use for a long time, regularly release the locking switch for half an hour to ensure the bearing swings flexibly.
Attentions
- Always check the accuracy of horizontal and vertical lines before each use. Inaccurate laser lines due to failure to check are not the responsibility of the manufacturer.
- Avoid severe vibration, collision, and dropping of the machine.
- Always lock the locking switch after use to protect the pendulum.
- Do not leave the battery in the machine for extended periods to avoid battery liquid leakage.
- Do not look directly at the laser line. Use protective glasses.
- Do not wipe the instrument with organic solvents.
Troubleshooting
Here are some common issues and their solutions:
- Blisters backlight flashes after power on: This is a normal working signal indicating the device is in receiving state. No action required.
- Laser line flashes: This indicates the machine is not within its self-leveling range. Adjust the level using the legs or mounting until the flashing stops.
- Laser line appears blurred: The outer glass may be dirty. Wipe the outer glass with a clean cotton cloth.
- Device not turning on: Ensure the battery is fully charged and correctly installed. Check the main power switch.
- Remote control not working: Check the battery in the remote control. Ensure there are no obstructions between the remote and the laser level.
User Tips
- Battery Management: Always fully charge the battery before using the machine for optimal performance. Avoid using the device while it is charging.
- Remote Control: The remote control is a convenient feature for operating the laser level from a distance, especially when mounted high or in hard-to-reach areas.
- Stability: For best accuracy, always ensure the laser level is placed on a very stable surface or securely mounted to a tripod or bracket.
- Visibility: While the green laser is powerful, using laser enhancement glasses can significantly improve visibility in bright conditions.
