3. Setup Guide
3.1 Hardware Connection
Follow these steps to connect your NVR system:
- Connect your IP cameras to the POE ports on the back of the NVR using Ethernet cables.
- Connect the NVR to your router using the provided network cable.
- Connect a monitor or TV to the NVR's HDMI or VGA port.
- Connect the USB mouse to a USB port on the NVR.
- Connect the DC12V power adapter to the NVR and plug it into a power outlet.

3.2 Hard Drive Installation (Optional)
The NVR supports a 3.5-inch SATA HDD up to 14TB. If your NVR did not come with a pre-installed HDD, you can install one:
- Unscrew and remove the top cover of the NVR.
- Connect the SATA data and power cables from the NVR to the HDD.
- Secure the HDD to the NVR chassis using the provided screws.
- Replace the top cover and secure it with screws.

4. Operating Instructions
4.1 Initial Setup and Menu Navigation
Upon first boot, the NVR will guide you through an initial setup wizard. You can navigate the menu using the connected USB mouse.

Language Settings:
To change the system language, navigate to the 'System' menu, then 'General', and select your preferred language from the dropdown list. The NVR supports over 20 languages including English, Chinese, Russian, Portuguese, French, German, etc.

Main Menu Overview:
The main menu provides access to various functions including Playback, Record Configuration, Network settings, Date/Time, System settings, Alarm settings, and Advanced options.

4.2 Recording Configuration
The NVR supports multiple recording modes: Manual, Alarm, Dynamic Detection, and Timing. You can configure these settings in the 'Record Conf.' menu.
- Schedule: Set specific times for continuous recording.
- Detect: Enable recording based on motion detection.
- Alarm: Trigger recording when an alarm event occurs.

4.3 Playback
Access recorded footage through the 'Playback' option in the main menu. You can search by channel, date, and time. The playback interface allows for common playback, sync playback, day parting, smart search, and face search.

4.4 Network Settings
Configure network parameters such as IP address, subnet mask, gateway, and DNS in the 'Network' menu. The NVR supports DHCP for automatic IP assignment.

4.5 Date and Time Settings
Set the time zone, system time, date format, and time format in the 'Date Time' menu.

4.6 Intelligent Alert (Motion & Face Detection)
The NVR supports intelligent alerts, including motion detection and face detection (with compatible cameras). Configure these settings in the 'Alarm' menu under 'Intelligent Alert'. You can set sensitivity, define detection regions, and enable recording or mobile notifications upon detection.

4.7 Remote Viewing (P2P)
Download the XMeye or iCSee app on your iOS or Android device. Scan the QR code provided in the NVR's network settings or on the VMS software to connect and view your cameras remotely.

4.8 VMS Software for PC
For local review and recording on your computer, install the VMS software. Scan the QR codes below to download the Windows or Mac version. Default login credentials are Username: admin, Password: admin.

5. Maintenance
5.1 Hard Drive Management
Regularly check the status of your hard drive in the NVR's 'Advanced' menu under 'HDD Info'. Ensure sufficient storage space for continuous recording. The NVR supports overwriting old footage when the disk is full.
5.2 System Updates and Backup
Periodically check for firmware updates in the 'Advanced' menu under 'Upgrade' to ensure optimal performance and security. You can also backup system configurations and recordings using the 'Backup' and 'Import/Export' options.
5.3 Auto-Maintain
The NVR includes an 'AutoMaintain' function in the 'Advanced' menu, which can be configured for scheduled system maintenance tasks.
6. Troubleshooting
6.1 Video Loss
If you experience video loss from a channel, check the following:
- Ensure the camera is properly connected to the NVR's POE port.
- Verify the network cable connection between the camera and NVR.
- Check the camera's power supply if it's not a POE camera.
- Confirm the camera's IP address and network settings are correct in the NVR's 'IP Channel' menu.
6.2 Motion Detection Not Triggering
If motion detection is not working as expected:
- Ensure 'Motion Detect' is enabled for the specific channel in the 'Intelligent Alert' settings.
- Adjust the sensitivity level.
- Verify the detection region is correctly set.
- Check if 'Record' or 'Mobile reported' options are enabled for motion detection.
6.3 Network Connection Issues
If the NVR cannot connect to the network or remote viewing fails:
- Check the physical network cable connection to the router.
- Verify the NVR's IP address, subnet mask, and gateway settings in the 'Network' menu. Ensure they are compatible with your local network.
- If using DHCP, ensure your router has DHCP enabled.
- Confirm that the P2P service is active and the NVR has internet access.
