Maintenance

1. Format Free 2.0

The GX5 features Format Free 2.0 technology, which maximizes the lifespan and stability of your Micro SD card. It minimizes fragmentation and prevents repeated overwriting in specific areas, ensuring long-term reliable use without the need for frequent manual formatting.

2. Battery Protection (Low Voltage Cut-off)

The dash cam is equipped with a low voltage cut-off function to protect your vehicle's battery from discharge. It automatically cuts off power to the dash cam if the battery voltage drops below a preset level, even in extreme weather conditions. You can customize the cut-off voltage settings to suit your vehicle's battery characteristics.

3. Micro SD Card Management

  • Regularly check the Micro SD card for proper function.
  • While Format Free 2.0 reduces the need, occasional manual formatting (e.g., every few months) can help maintain optimal performance. Always back up important files before formatting.

Troubleshooting

If you encounter issues with your Finevu GX5, please refer to the following common troubleshooting steps:

  • Device not powering on: Check the power cable connection to both the dash cam and the vehicle's power outlet. Ensure the vehicle's ignition is on if not connected to a constant power source.
  • Recording issues (no recording, corrupted files): Ensure the Micro SD card is properly inserted. Try reformatting the SD card (after backing up important files). If the issue persists, try a different compatible Micro SD card.
  • Display not working: Check power connection. If the screen is black but the device is recording, the screen might be set to turn off automatically. Tap the screen to wake it up.
  • ADAS features not working: Ensure the external GPS antenna is connected and has a clear view of the sky. Verify that the dash cam's mounting angle is correctly set in the device settings.
  • Poor video quality: Ensure the camera lenses are clean and free from obstructions. Check settings for resolution and frame rate.
