Power Adapter Selection
Ensure you use the correct power adapter for your region:
- US Plug Adapter (2 Pin Flat Pin): For United States, Canada, most North and South American Countries, Japan, Philippines, Thailand, etc.
- EU Plug Adapter (2 Pin Round Pin): For most European Countries, most African Countries, most Middle East Countries, South Korea, Chile, etc.
- KR Plug Adapter (2 Pin Round Pin): For South Korea.
3. Setup Guide
3.1. App Installation and Account Registration
- Step 1: Scan the QR code below or search "Imou Life" in Google Play Store (Android) or Apple App Store (iOS) to download and install the application.
- Step 2: Run the Imou Life App and register an account for first-time use.
3.2. Camera Connection and Setup
- Step 3: Connect the camera to a power source using the provided power adapter.
- Step 4: Wait for the camera to finish booting. The camera indicator light will flash green when ready.
- Step 5: Follow the in-app instructions to add the camera.
- If you have multiple cameras, add them one by one.
- If the Wi-Fi network changes or the indicator status is incorrect, reset the camera and repeat Step 5.
3.3. Physical Installation
The IMOU Cruiser SC is designed for wall-mounted outdoor installation. Use the provided mounting template and screw package for secure placement. Ensure the waterproof connector is properly installed to protect the connections from weather elements.
4. Operating Instructions
4.1. Pan & Tilt Control
The camera offers a wide viewing range with 0~355° Pan and 0~90° Tilt capabilities. You can remotely control the lens movement through the Imou Life App to monitor every corner of your property, ensuring no blind spots.
4.2. Smart Color Night Vision
The Cruiser SC features four smart night vision modes to provide clear images even in complete darkness:
- Infrared Mode: Standard black-and-white night vision.
- Color Mode: Utilizes built-in spotlights for full-color night vision.
- Smart Mode: Switches from infrared to color mode upon detection of motion.
- Off Mode: Disables night vision.
4.3. Active Deterrence with Red-Blue Warning Lights
When the camera detects intrusion, its built-in spotlight and red-blue warning lights activate, accompanied by a siren, to alert and deter potential threats. The bicrystal lamps support both infrared and white light emitting modes.
4.4. AI Human Detection & Smart Tracking
The camera's powerful AI algorithm quickly identifies human targets, sending immediate notifications to your smartphone. This minimizes false alerts from non-human movements. Smart Tracking allows the camera to automatically follow detected human activity.
4.5. Two-Way Talk
With a built-in speaker and microphone featuring echo cancellation, you can engage in real-time two-way conversations through the camera via the Imou Life App. This allows you to communicate with visitors or deter unwanted guests from anywhere.
4.6. Privacy Mode
For moments when you desire privacy, a single tap in the Imou Life App can hide the camera's PT lens, stopping all video and sound collection. This ensures your personal privacy when you are at home.
4.7. Connectivity and Smart Home Integration
The Cruiser SC supports Wi-Fi 6 protocol, providing higher video quality, faster speeds, and more stable network connections, especially when paired with Wi-Fi 6 routers. It also integrates with smart home platforms like Alexa, allowing for voice control and seamless integration into your smart home ecosystem.
4.8. Recording, Livestream, and Notifications
The Imou Life App allows you to record videos and capture photos, review past events, and share important moments. Dual antennas ensure a smooth livestream with an operating range of up to 330ft in open areas. Receive real-time photo notifications on your phone and tablet to stay informed about activities at home.
4.9. Diversified Storage Options
Video footage can be stored and accessed via multiple methods:
- Micro SD Card: Supports up to 512GB. (e.g., 64GB for 4 days, 128GB for 8 days, 256GB for 16 days of recording).
- Network Video Recorder (NVR): For longer storage times and operating multiple cameras. Works with all NVRs that support the ONVIF protocol.
- Cloud Storage: A 30-day free trial is available for every new registered Imou device. Cloud video storage is based on alarms.
5. Maintenance
5.1. Weather Resistance
The Cruiser SC camera features a weatherproof design, making it suitable for various outdoor conditions. Ensure all connections, especially the waterproof connector, are securely fastened during installation to maintain its weather resistance.
5.2. Cleaning
To maintain optimal performance, periodically clean the camera lens and housing. Use a soft, damp cloth to wipe away dust and dirt. Avoid using harsh chemicals or abrasive materials that could damage the camera's surface or lens.
5.3. Firmware Updates
Keep your camera's firmware updated through the Imou Life App to ensure you have the latest features, security enhancements, and bug fixes. The app will typically notify you when updates are available.
6. Troubleshooting
6.1. "Failed to bind" Error
If the app displays "Failed to bind," it means the device successfully connected to Wi-Fi but failed to link to your Imou account. Ensure your router has a stable internet connection and try again. Unstable internet is a common cause.
6.2. Modifying Device Information
To modify the device's photo, name, channel name, or password in the mobile app:
- Method 1: Go to the preview page, click the gear icon in the top right corner, navigate to device settings, then click the device image bar to the Device Info page. From there, select the corresponding option to modify.
- Method 2: Go to "Me" -> "My Device" -> select the corresponding device -> click the device image bar to the Device Info page -> click the corresponding option to modify.
6.3. Changing Wi-Fi Network
If you change your Wi-Fi network or move the camera to a new location:
- If your camera has an Ethernet port and you have a cable: Connect the camera to your router via Ethernet. Wait for the LED to turn solid blue. In the Imou Life app, go to "Device" page, select your camera, go to its settings, then "Wi-Fi Config" to connect to the new Wi-Fi.
- If no Ethernet port or cable: Reset your camera to factory default settings and then set it up again with the new Wi-Fi network.
6.4. Not Receiving Alarm Messages
If you are not receiving alarm notifications:
- Ensure the enable button in the upper right corner of the channel picture on the main page is active.
- Verify Imou Notifications are enabled in your phone's settings ("Settings" -> "Notifications" on iPhone) and within the Imou App ("Me" -> "Settings" -> "Notice").
- Confirm that event detection (e.g., motion detection) is enabled for the device and its time schedule is valid.
- Make sure the device has a stable internet connection.
6.5. All Black Image at Night
If the image is entirely black at night, consider the following:
- IR LED Issue: Check if the IR LEDs are lighting up. If they are but the image is still black, there might be an issue with the ICR (IR Cut Filter).
- Distance Limitation: For consumer cameras, the IR distance is typically less than 10 meters. Objects beyond this range may not be clearly visible in low light.

- Stable Connection: For optimal performance and to avoid "Failed to bind" errors, ensure your Wi-Fi network has a strong and stable internet connection during setup and operation.
- Data Management: If using an SD card for storage, regularly back up important footage as older recordings are automatically overwritten. For cloud storage, be aware of the trial period and subscription options.
- Notification Settings: To receive timely alerts, double-check that notifications are enabled both in the Imou Life App and in your smartphone's system settings. Also, ensure motion detection or other event triggers are active and scheduled correctly within the app.
- Night Vision Range: Remember that the effective night vision range for consumer cameras like the Cruiser SC is typically limited to about 10 meters. Objects beyond this distance may not be clearly visible in low light.
- Account Security: For security reasons, each camera can only be bound to one Imou account at a time. If you need to transfer ownership or add it to a new account, delete it from the previous account first.
