Button Functions:

  • C/OFF (Top Left): Exit/shutdown key for laser ranging function.
  • Up Arrow (Top Right): Ranging function menu up scroll button.
  • OK/DIST (Middle Right): Start/measure/menu confirm button for laser ranging function.
  • Down Arrow (Bottom Right): Ranging function menu next scroll key.
  • Metal/AC Button (Bottom Left, square icon): Activates detection for metal and AC wires.

5. Setup

5.1 Charging the Device

Before first use, ensure the device is fully charged. Connect the provided USB cable to the charging port on the device and to a standard USB power adapter (not included) or a computer USB port.

The battery indicator on the display will show the charging status. A full charge ensures optimal performance and accuracy.

6. Operating Modes

6.1 Wall Detection Function

The wall detector helps locate metal, wood, and live AC wires behind various surfaces.

  1. Power On: Press the circular Power Button (middle bottom) to turn on the detection function.
  2. Select Mode: Use the 'Metal/AC' button (square icon) to switch between metal and AC detection, or the 'Foreign Body' button (bell icon) for wood detection. The display will indicate the active mode.
  3. Scan Surface: Place the device flat against the wall or surface you wish to scan. Slowly move the device horizontally across the surface.
  4. Interpret Display: The display will show visual indicators and an audible alert (if enabled) when an object is detected. The center indicator helps pinpoint the exact location.

6.2 Laser Distance Meter Function

The laser distance meter allows for quick and accurate measurements of distance, area, volume, and calculations using the Pythagorean theorem.

  1. Activate Laser: Press the 'OK/DIST' button (middle right) to activate the laser.
  2. Select Measurement Mode: Use the 'Up Arrow' and 'Down Arrow' buttons to navigate through the menu and select your desired measurement mode (e.g., single distance, area, volume, Pythagoras). Confirm your selection with 'OK/DIST'.
  3. Take Measurement: Aim the laser at the target point. Press 'OK/DIST' again to take the measurement. The result will be displayed on the screen.
  4. Multiple Measurements: For area, volume, or Pythagoras measurements, follow the on-screen prompts to take successive distance readings.

7. Maintenance

  • Cleaning: Wipe the device with a soft, damp cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners or solvents.
