1. Introduction

The RockTek G2 is a high-performance 4K TV Box designed to transform your television into a smart entertainment hub. Powered by the Amlogic S905X4-K processor and running Android TV 14, it offers seamless streaming of content from popular services like Netflix and Google TV. With support for advanced audio and video technologies such as DTS, Dolby Audio, Dolby Vision, and Dolby Atmos, the G2 delivers an immersive audiovisual experience. This manual provides detailed instructions for setting up, operating, maintaining, and troubleshooting your RockTek G2 TV Box.

3. Setup Guide

3.1 Connecting the TV Box

  1. Connect to TV: Plug one end of the provided HD Cable into the HDMI port on the RockTek G2 TV Box and the other end into an available HDMI input on your television.
  2. Connect to Network (Optional):
    • Wired Connection: For optimal performance, connect an Ethernet cable from your router to the LAN port on the TV Box.
    • Wireless Connection: The device supports WiFi6. You can connect to your Wi-Fi network during the initial setup process.
  3. Connect Power: Plug the Power Adapter into the DC 12V/1A input port on the TV Box, then plug the adapter into a power outlet.
  4. Power On: The device should automatically power on. If not, press the power button on the remote control.

3.2 Initial Setup Wizard

Upon first boot-up, the RockTek G2 will guide you through an initial setup wizard. Follow the on-screen prompts to:

  • Select your language.
  • Connect to a Wi-Fi network (if not using a wired connection).
  • Sign in with your Google account to access Google Play Store and other Google services.
  • Accept terms and conditions.
  • Set up Google Assistant and voice control.

3.3 Remote Control Pairing

The included Bluetooth Voice Remote Control typically pairs automatically. If it does not, or if you need to re-pair it:

  1. Ensure the remote has fresh AAA batteries (2x AAA 1.5A).
  2. Go to the Android TV settings menu (usually accessible via the gear icon on the home screen).
  3. Navigate to "Remotes & Accessories" or a similar option.
  4. Select "Add accessory" and follow the on-screen instructions to put your remote into pairing mode (often by holding down specific buttons, refer to the remote's quick start guide if available).

4. Operating Instructions

4.1 Navigating the Android TV Interface

Use the directional pad and OK button on your remote control to navigate through the Android TV home screen. The home screen provides quick access to installed apps, recommended content, and system settings.

4.2 Using Voice Control (Google Assistant)

The RockTek G2 remote features a dedicated Google Assistant button. Press this button and speak into the remote to:

  • Search for movies, TV shows, or videos.
  • Open applications.
  • Control smart home devices.
  • Get answers to questions.

Voice input is supported in 24 countries.

4.3 Streaming Content

The RockTek G2 supports a wide range of streaming services, including Netflix, Google TV, Prime Video, Disney+, Apple TV+, HBO Max, GeForce NOW, and many more. You can download additional apps from the Google Play Store.

4.4 Chromecast Built-in

The device features Chromecast built-in, allowing you to cast content from your compatible mobile devices or computer directly to your TV via the RockTek G2. Look for the Cast icon within supported apps on your phone or browser.

4.5 HDMI CEC Functionality

HDMI CEC (Consumer Electronics Control) allows you to control multiple HDMI-connected devices with a single remote. If your TV and other devices support CEC, you can enable it in your TV's settings to control the RockTek G2 with your TV remote, or vice-versa.

6. Maintenance

  • Cleaning: Use a soft, dry cloth to clean the exterior of the TV Box. Do not use liquid cleaners or aerosols.
  • Software Updates: The RockTek G2 receives over-the-air (OTA) software updates. It is recommended to keep your device updated to the latest firmware for optimal performance and security. You can check for updates in the system settings.
  • Ventilation: Ensure the TV Box is placed in a well-ventilated area to prevent overheating. Do not cover ventilation openings.
  • Power Cycle: If the device becomes unresponsive, try unplugging the power adapter, waiting 10 seconds, and then plugging it back in.

7. Troubleshooting

  • Verify the HD Cable is securely connected to both the TV Box and the TV.

Remote Control Not Responding
  • Check if the batteries are correctly inserted and have sufficient charge. Replace if necessary (2*AAA 1.5A).
  • Re-pair the Bluetooth remote control as described in Section 3.3.
  • Ensure there are no obstructions between the remote and the TV Box.
No Internet Connection
  • For wired connection, check the Ethernet cable and your router.
  • For Wi-Fi, ensure you have selected the correct network and entered the password accurately.
  • Restart your router and the TV Box.
App Freezing or Crashing
  • Close and reopen the application.
  • Clear the app's cache and data in the Android TV settings (Apps > [App Name] > Clear cache/Clear data).
  • Ensure the app is updated to its latest version.

The RockTek G2 TV Box comes with a 12-month Manufacturer’s Warranty for defective items. This warranty does not cover items damaged or misused after receipt. Accessories included with the product are covered by a 3-month warranty.
