Setup Instructions
1. Unfolding the Gimbal
The Comitok L7 is designed to be portable and foldable. To unfold it for use:
- Gently extend the gimbal arm until it locks into place.
- Adjust the phone holder to the upright position.
2. Attaching Your Smartphone
For optimal stability and battery life, follow these steps:
- It is recommended to remove your phone case before installation.
- Carefully place your smartphone into the phone holder, ensuring it is centered. Proper centering improves stability and extends battery life.
3. Attaching the Magnetic Fill Light (if applicable)
If your model includes the magnetic fill light:
- Align the magnetic suction surface of the fill light module with the designated area on the smartphone holder.
- The fill light will securely attach magnetically.
4. Attaching the AI Tracking Module (if applicable)
If your model includes the AI tracking module:
- Align the magnetic suction surface of the AI tracking module with the designated area on the smartphone holder.
- The AI tracking module will securely attach magnetically.
5. Powering On
Press and hold the power button on the gimbal handle to turn it on. The gimbal is designed for quick power-on and immediate use without requiring manual leveling.
Operating Instructions
Gimbal Controls
The gimbal features a simple layout for one-button control and single-handed operation.
- Power Button: Press and hold to power on/off.
- Mode Button: Cycle through different gimbal modes (e.g., Pan Follow, Lock Mode, FPV).
- Joystick: Control the pan and tilt movements of the smartphone.
- Zoom Slider: Adjust the zoom level of your smartphone camera (if supported by your phone/app).
- Charging Port: USB Type-C port for charging the gimbal.
- Device Connection Indicator: Shows the connection status.
AI Tracking Module Operation
The AI tracking module allows for intelligent face and object tracking without requiring a Bluetooth connection or a dedicated app for basic tracking functionality. It works with all phone apps.
AI Tracking Module Buttons & Indicators:
- Indicator 1 (Gesture Recognition):
- Off: Gesture recognition function is off.
- On: Gesture recognition function is on.
- Flash 3 times: Gesture recognition function is activated and recognizing gestures.
- Flashing: Gimbal is connecting with AI tracking module.
- Indicator 2 (Face Tracking):
- Off: Face tracking function is off.
- Slow flashing: Face tracking function is on, but no facial recognition.
- On: Face tracking function is on and recognized face.
- Default status upon power on: Both gesture recognition and face tracking functions are activated.
- Button 1:
- Single press: Turn on/off the gesture recognition function.
- Double press: Turn on/off the face tracking function.
- Button 2:
- Press and hold: Turn on/off the LED light.
- Single press: Switch the light mode and lightness (9 levels).
Gesture Control:
The gimbal supports smart AI gesture control for convenient operation (primarily for iPhone):
- Fist Gesture: Start taking photo/video recording.
- Palm Gesture: Stop taking photo/video recording.
- "Six" Gesture: Turn on/off the fill light.
- Thumbs Up Gesture: Adjust the lightness of the fill light.
- "V" Gesture: Start face tracking.
- Open Palm Gesture: Stop face tracking.
Magnetic Fill Light Operation
The magnetic fill light offers 9 levels of adjustable brightness and 3 color temperature levels (6500K, 3000K, 5500K).
- Button 1 (on Fill Light):
- Press and hold: Power on/off the light.
- Single press: Adjust the light mode (Mixed, Warm, White light, each with soft, mid, strong settings).
- Button 2 (on Fill Light):
- Single press: Adjust the lightness (brightness).
Advanced Filming Features
- 3-Axis Stabilization: The advanced 3-axis stabilization and 9.0 anti-shake technology ensure smooth, professional-looking footage.
- Landscape or Portrait Switch: Effortlessly switch between landscape and portrait modes without needing an app or Bluetooth.

Maintenance
- Keep the gimbal clean and free from dust and debris. Use a soft, dry cloth for cleaning.

Charging
The Comitok L7 gimbal features ultra-fast charging. It takes approximately 80 minutes to fully charge, ensuring minimal downtime.
- Connect the provided Type-C USB Power Cable to the charging port on the gimbal.
- Connect the other end of the cable to a suitable USB power adapter (not included).
- The charging indicator lights will show the charging status.
Troubleshooting
- Issue: Phone overheating during face tracking.
- Solution: If your phone displays a temperature warning, it needs to cool down before continued use. This can occur due to high power consumption during face tracking. Consider taking short breaks or reducing the duration of continuous tracking.
- Issue: Gimbal instability or reduced battery life.
- Solution: Ensure your smartphone is installed correctly and centered in the phone holder. Removing the phone case can also improve stability and prevent issues. Refer to the "Attaching Your Smartphone" section.
- Issue: AI tracking not working effectively.
- Solution:
- Ensure the AI tracking distance is greater than 30cm from the subject.
- Verify there is sufficient light on the face for optimal tracking performance.
- Check the AI Tracking Module's Indicator 2. If it's slow flashing, face tracking is on but no face is recognized. If it's off, double-press Button 1 to activate face tracking.
