5. Setup Guide
5.1. Initial Connection
- Power On Sequence: Always power on the electronic display screen (receiver) first, then power on the sensor.
- Connect Antenna: Screw the antenna onto the sensor unit.
- Connect Power: Connect the power adapter to the electronic display screen.
Video: Demonstrates the setup process, including drilling a hole in a tank, connecting the sensor, and observing liquid level changes on the mobile app.
5.2. Sensor Installation on Tank
The sensor is designed for installation on the top of a tank. For closed tanks, a hole must be drilled. The recommended hole size is 72mm.

5.2.1. Optimal Sensor Placement
Correct sensor placement is crucial for accurate readings. Avoid installing the sensor directly above a liquid inlet or too close to the tank's bulkhead.

Image: Diagrams illustrating correct and incorrect sensor installation positions.
- Hold the sensor perpendicular to the liquid surface.
- Install the sensor away from the water inlet to avoid pseudo-echoes.
- The sensor installation cannot be close to the bulkhead, otherwise it will cause a strong pseudo-echo.
If installed on a pipe, the pipe must be a single piece, not spliced, and free of debris on its inner wall.
5.3. Mobile App Setup
- Download App: Search for "TUYA Smart APP" or "Smart Life app" on your device's app store (supports Android and iOS).
- WiFi Connection: The electronic display screen communicates with your mobile phone via WiFi. Ensure your WiFi network is 2.4GHz, as 5GHz is not supported.
- Connect Devices: Follow the in-app instructions to connect the electronic display screen to your WiFi network and then link the sensor.

6. Operating Instructions
6.1. Understanding the Display Screen

Image: The electronic display screen showing power button, WiFi indicator, 433Mhz indicator, and liquid level percentage indicators (20%, 40%, 60%, 80%, 100%).
- Power Button: Central button to turn the display on/off.
- WiFi Indicator: Shows WiFi connection status.
- 433Mhz Indicator: Shows connection status with the sensor.
- Liquid Level Indicators: LEDs illuminate to show approximate liquid level percentage (20%, 40%, 60%, 80%, 100%).
6.2. Mobile App Usage
The mobile app provides real-time liquid level ratio and depth, along with historical data. You can set custom alarm levels.

Image: Screenshot of the mobile app displaying liquid level ratio (87%), liquid level depth (2.09m), and status (Normal).

Image: Diagram illustrating the system's connectivity: sensor to display via 433Mhz (up to 450m no obstacle), display to router via WiFi (up to 50m no obstacle), and router to mobile app for remote monitoring.
6.3. Setting Tank Parameters in App
Important Note: 60% of users incorrectly set these parameters. Please pay close attention.

Image: Diagram explaining "Installation height" (①) and "Sensor to liquid full line" (②).
- Set Installation Height (①): This is the distance from the sensor to the bottom of the tank.
- Note: The installation height may differ from the actual tank height if the sensor is installed above the tank.
- Maximum installation height is 3.0 meters.
- Set Sensor to Liquid Full Line (②): This is the distance from the sensor to the desired full liquid line.
- Note: The blind zone is 0.1 meter. This value cannot be set smaller than 0.1 meter.
- Set Alarm Levels: Configure low-level and full-level alarms within the app.
- Multiple Sensors/Apps: You can connect up to 200 sensors to one app, and one sensor can be connected to multiple apps.
7. Maintenance
- Cleaning: Periodically clean the sensor surface to ensure accurate readings. Use a soft, damp cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners.
- Inspection: Regularly check the sensor and cables for any signs of damage or wear.
- Firmware Updates: Check the mobile app for any available firmware updates for the device to ensure optimal performance and new features.
8. Troubleshooting
- No Reading/Inaccurate Reading:
- Ensure the sensor is installed correctly, away from inlets and bulkheads (refer to Section 5.2.1).
- Check that the sensor is perpendicular to the liquid surface.
- Verify the "Installation height" and "Sensor to liquid full line" settings in the app are correct (refer to Section 6.3).
- Ensure the pipe (if applicable) is one-piece and clear of debris.
- No Connection (433Mhz):
- Ensure the electronic display screen is powered on before the sensor.
- Check the distance between the sensor and the display screen. The maximum range is 450m in open space; walls and obstacles will reduce this.
- Verify antennas are securely connected to both the sensor and display.
- No Connection (WiFi):
- Ensure the electronic display screen is within range of your WiFi router.
- Confirm your WiFi network is 2.4GHz. The device does not support 5GHz networks.
- Try restarting your WiFi router and the electronic display screen.
- App Not Displaying Data:
- Check your phone's internet connection.
- Ensure the app is updated to the latest version.
- Try restarting the app or your phone.
9. User Tips
- Outdoor Use: For outdoor environments where consistent power supply is an issue, consider using a solar-powered sensor (check seller's other products for compatibility).
- Pump Control: If you need to control a water pump based on liquid levels, a smart plug can be integrated with the system (check seller's other products for compatibility).
- Minimum Range/Ullage: The sensor has a minimum detection range of 10 cm (0.1m) from its base. The "blind zone" is 0.1 meter, meaning it cannot accurately measure liquid levels within 10cm of the sensor face.
