Setup and Installation
This section provides general guidelines for installing your JOYING car radio. Professional installation is recommended.
Pre-Installation Notes:
- The unit comes with a universal 20-pin harness.
- Depending on your vehicle, you may need additional components such as an installation fascia, special ISO harness, Canbus decoder, amplifier decoder, radio adapter, or USB adapter.
- The unit does not support factory car GPS antenna, rear camera, Bluetooth, USB, or microphone. You will need to use the provided or optional accessories for these functions.
- Ensure the vehicle's power is disconnected before starting installation.
Installation Steps:
- Prepare the Vehicle: Disconnect the negative terminal of your car battery. Remove the existing car stereo and any trim panels necessary to access the mounting area.
- Mounting the Head Unit:
Adjustable installation brackets. The fixing position of the left & right brackets can be extended or telescoped to achieve the best fixing position according to your car center console, adapting to a wider range of vehicles (34mm, 52mm, MAX 88mm). Use the provided single DIN cage, mounting sleeve, and adjustable left & right brackets. Adjust the brackets to fit your car's center console, allowing for extension from 34mm to a maximum of 88mm.
- Wiring Connections:
Connect the universal 20-pin harness to your vehicle's wiring. Refer to the detailed wiring diagram in the included printed Installation Manual. Connect the GPS antenna, WiFi antenna, 4G antennas, and external microphone to their respective ports on the rear of the head unit.
Rear panel connections for various inputs and outputs, including USB, HDMI Out, RCA, and antenna ports. Ensure all connections are secure. If using optional accessories like a rear camera or OBD2, connect them now.
- Power On and Initial Setup: Reconnect the car battery. Turn on the car ignition. The unit should power on. Follow the on-screen prompts for initial setup, including language selection and time zone.
Operating Instructions
User Interface:
The unit runs on Android 13.0 and features a customizable launcher. You can switch between LHD and RHD user interfaces as needed.
CarPlay & Android Auto:
Connect your smartphone via USB cable or Bluetooth to enable wireless Apple CarPlay or Android Auto. This allows you to access navigation, make phone calls, and listen to music directly from your phone's apps on the head unit's screen.
Split-screen Multitasking:
To use split-screen multitasking:
- Tap the recent apps icon.
- Locate the app you wish to use in split-screen mode. Tap its icon to reveal the split-screen button, then tap the button.
- The selected app will occupy the left side of the screen. Choose a second app from your recent applications to fill the right side.
Sound Settings:
The unit features a TDA7851 DSP Chip and a 48-Band Graphic Equalizer for high-quality sound. Adjust audio settings via the "Sound effects" app. The unit provides 4x50W max output and supports aftermarket amplifiers through its 4 audio outputs, 1 subwoofer output, fiber optical output, SPDIF coaxial output, and center channel output.
WiFi Connectivity:
With its independent WiFi antenna, the unit ensures stable signal quality for fast and smooth internet access. It supports 802.11a/b/g/n/AC standards on both 2.4GHz and 5GHz bands. Connect to available WiFi networks through the system settings.
Steering Wheel Control:
The unit supports steering wheel controls, allowing you to manage songs, radio channels, and volume directly from your steering wheel. This feature enhances safety and convenience. For vehicles with a CAN system, an additional Canbus cable may be required.

- Temperature Control:
The unit features a dual heat sink design for efficient heat dissipation. You can set warning values for volume or CPU temperature; if exceeded, the cooling fan will activate automatically to prevent overheating.
