6. User Tips

  • App Choice: While both Tuya Smart and Smart Life apps work, they offer similar functionality. Choose the one you prefer or already use for other smart devices.
  • Resetting the Device: If you need to reset the smart plug, press and hold the pairing button for 5 seconds until the indicator light flashes rapidly. This puts it back into pairing mode. If the button doesn't respond, try unplugging and re-plugging the device, then attempt the 5-second press again.
  • On/Off Time: The smart plug operates with a standard on/off response time. There is no user-adjustable setting to shorten the on/off time to fractions of a second.
  • Power-off Memory: The smart plug remembers its last state (on/off) after a power outage, ensuring your settings are maintained when power is restored.

7. Troubleshooting

  • Device not pairing:
    • Ensure your Wi-Fi network is 2.4 GHz. The smart plug does not support 5 GHz networks.
    • Make sure your smartphone is connected to the 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi network during the pairing process.
    • Verify that the smart plug's indicator light is flashing rapidly, indicating it's in pairing mode. If not, press and hold the pairing button for 5 seconds.
    • Check your Wi-Fi password for accuracy.
    • Move the smart plug closer to your Wi-Fi router.
  • Remote control not working:
    • Check your internet connection.
    • Ensure the smart plug is connected to your Wi-Fi network (solid indicator light).
    • Restart the app and try again.
  • Voice control not responding:
    • Confirm that your Tuya Smart/Smart Life account is correctly linked to your Alexa or Google Home app.
    • Ensure your voice assistant device (e.g., Amazon Echo, Google Home) is online and functioning correctly.
    • Use the exact device name you set in the app for voice commands.
  • Power monitoring data is incorrect or missing:
    • Ensure the device is properly plugged in and actively controlling an appliance.
    • Check the app for any updates or known issues.

8. Maintenance and Safety

  • Cleaning: Disconnect the smart plug from the power outlet before cleaning. Use a dry, soft cloth to wipe the surface. Do not use liquid cleaners or sprays.
  • Environment: Avoid exposing the smart plug to extreme temperatures, humidity, or direct sunlight. It is designed for indoor use only.
  • Overload Protection: The smart plug includes overload protection. If the connected appliance draws too much current (exceeding 16A), the circuit breaker will automatically trip to prevent damage. Reduce the load or use a different appliance if this occurs.
  • Safety: Do not disassemble or attempt to repair the smart plug yourself. Refer to qualified personnel for service. Keep out of reach of children.

9. Warranty and Support

For warranty information and technical support, please refer to the seller's official website or contact their customer service directly. Keep your purchase receipt as proof of purchase.
