2. Vehicle Compatibility

This multimedia player is designed for various Volkswagen (VW), Skoda, and Seat models. Please verify your car's dashboard and existing radio unit against the images and list below to ensure compatibility.

4. Setup and Installation

Proper installation is crucial for the optimal performance of your multimedia player. If you are unsure about any steps, it is recommended to seek professional assistance.

4.1 Pre-Installation Checks

• Power Cable: The unit comes with a standard 40PIN power cord. If your car requires an ISO power cable or a 52PIN power cord, these must be purchased separately. Please contact support if you are unsure which cable your car needs.
• Special Connectors:

  • If your car requires a 52pin cable, it needs to be purchased separately.
  • If your car is equipped with dual FAKRA radio antenna sockets, you will need to purchase an adapter.
  • If your car has a factory camera interface that is 26 PIN, you will need to purchase a camera adapter.
  • If your car has a Dynaudio sound system, do not purchase directly; please contact us for compatibility.

4.2 CANBUS Connection

The CANBUS connection is essential for integrating the multimedia player with your car's steering wheel controls and other systems.

• If your car has steering wheel buttons: You need to connect the CANBUS box as shown in diagram 'A'.
• If your car does NOT have steering wheel buttons: Do NOT connect the CANBUS box. Follow diagram 'B' for direct connection.
• For low configuration cars: Connect cable connector NO.2 together.

4.3 Rear View Camera Connection

To connect a rear view camera (optional, not included):

1. Red cable (2) connects to the back light "+".
2. Black cable (1) connects to the "GND".
3. The reverse detection cable (4, brown color) connects to the red cable (3) extending from the video output cable.

4.4 General Installation Overview

The unit is designed for a seamless fit into compatible VW dashboards. The images below show a typical installation process.

5. Operating Instructions

5.1 Wireless CarPlay & Wired Android Auto

The multimedia player supports both Wireless CarPlay for iOS devices and Wired Android Auto for Android devices.

• Wireless CarPlay (iOS system):
  1. Connect Bluetooth.
  2. Click on "Zlink" and wait for connection.
  3. CarPlay can also be connected via USB cable.
• Wired Android Auto (Android system):
  1. Connect your mobile phone and car DVD player with a USB cable.
  2. Click on "Car Lin-k" (Zlink) and wait for connection.

5.2 GPS Navigation

The unit features a built-in global positioning system with omni-directional map display, real-time traffic conditions, and accurate positioning. It supports GPS, BDS, and GLONASS.

5.3 Bluetooth Function

The built-in smart Bluetooth system supports mobile phone pairing for hands-free dialing, BT music streaming, and synchronous contact/call record display, enhancing driving safety.

5.4 FM RDS Radio

The unit supports automatic and manual radio station search. You can drag and drop station icons to customize your channel list.

5.5 USB Media Playback

7.1 CANBUS Related Issues (Battery Discharge, Steering Wheel Controls Not Working)

Problem: The radio discharges the car battery, steering wheel controls do not work, or CANBUS functionality is absent.

Solution: This often indicates an incorrect CANBUS connection. Please review the CANBUS installation diagrams in Section 4.2. Ensure the CANBUS box is correctly connected if your car has steering wheel buttons, and disconnected if it does not. For low configuration cars, ensure connector NO.2 is properly connected.

7.2 Rear View Camera Not Working

Problem: The rear-view camera does not display an image or functions incorrectly after installation.

Solution: You may need to configure the camera type in the factory settings. Follow these steps:

1. Go to Factory Settings.
2. Enter password: 1234.
3. Set the correct camera type.
4. Reset the radio.

7.3 General Android System Issues

Android devices can sometimes experience problems due to improper installation or settings. If you receive a device with a problem, please contact customer support before leaving feedback or opening a dispute.

• Verify Screen Size: Before purchasing, carefully measure your car's dashboard opening to ensure the selected 7-inch, 8-inch, or 9-inch screen size will fit correctly.
• Check Wiring Harness: Always double-check your car's existing wiring harness and connectors against the provided diagrams. If your car has special connectors (e.g., 52PIN, FAKRA, Dynaudio), ensure you have the correct adapters or cables.
• Professional Installation: For complex wiring or if you are not confident with car electronics, consider professional installation to avoid potential issues.
• Firmware Updates: Regularly check the manufacturer's website or contact support for the latest firmware updates to improve performance and add new features.

9. Warranty and Support

9.1 Warranty Information

MEKEDE offers a 365-day free replacement warranty from the date of receipt confirmation. This warranty covers product defects and malfunctions. If a problem occurs within this period, you may be eligible for a free return and refund within 15 days, or a direct replacement of the unit.

Warranty Process:

1. Buyer contacts seller.
2. Seller confirms quality problems.
3. Buyer returns item to seller.
4. Seller receives return.
5. Seller sends a new item.
