RFI Jumper Configuration
The RFI (Radio Frequency Interference) jumper is crucial for EMC performance and surge protection.
- Varistors/MOVs are connected phase to phase and phase to ground to protect against surges.
- Removing the RFI jumper disconnects internal capacitors from ground, which can damage circuits and increase ground leakage current.
- If the drive has a built-in EMC filter, the RFI jumper connects filter capacitors to ground. Removing it can reduce the effectiveness of the filter.
- For single drives with built-in EMC filters, removing the RFI jumper may trigger a Residual Current Device (RCD).
To remove the RFI Jumper:

Diagram: Visual guide for locating and removing the RFI jumper for Frame A-F and Frame B-F models.
- Loosen the screw and remove the RFI Jumper (as shown in the diagram).
- Fasten the screw again after the RFI Jumper is removed.
- For Frame B-F models (with built-in EMC filter), remove the RFI Jumper with a screwdriver.
Screw Torque: 4-6 kg-cm / [3.5-5.2 lb-in.] / [0.39-0.59 Nm]
Grounding Instructions
Proper grounding is essential for safety and EMC compliance.
- Ensure the drive is properly grounded during installation.
- Cable diameters must comply with local safety regulations.
- Shielded cables must be connected to the ground of the drive.
- Shield of shielded power cables can only be used as the ground for equipment when the aforementioned points are met.
- When installing multiple drives, do not connect them in series; connect each drive to ground individually.
Important points regarding ground connection:

Diagram: Examples of correct and incorrect grounding setups for various AC systems.
Floating Ground System (IT Systems):
In an IT system (ungrounded system or high impedance/resistance), observe the following:
- Disconnect the RFI Jumper.
- Check for excess electromagnetic radiation affecting nearby low-voltage circuits.
- If necessary, install an extra electrostatic shielded cable on the power supply side between the main circuit and the control terminals to increase security.
- Do not install an external EMC filter. The EMC filter is connected to ground through the filter capacitors, which can damage the drive in an IT system.
DC Reactor Installation
A DC reactor can improve power factor, reduce input current, and reduce interference. It stabilizes the DC-bus voltage. For 115V models, no DC choke is needed.

Diagram: Wiring connections for an optional DC reactor and brake resistor.
The DC reactor is installed between terminals +1 and +2. The jumper shown in the diagram needs to be removed before installation.
Note:
- It is recommended to install a protective circuit breaker to protect the system from damage.
- When a fault occurs, use the circuit breaker to shut off power.
- RB and RC are multi-function relay contacts.
Operating Instructions
The Delta MS300 series features a user-friendly digital keypad for control and parameter settings. The main control buttons include RUN, STOP/RESET, MODE, and ENTER, along with arrow keys for navigation and a potentiometer for speed adjustment.

Maintenance
Regular maintenance ensures the longevity and optimal performance of your Delta MS300 frequency converter.
- Cleaning: Keep the unit clean and free from dust and debris. Use a soft, dry cloth for cleaning. Do not use liquid cleaners or solvents.
- Ventilation: Ensure proper airflow around the unit. Regularly check that ventilation openings are not obstructed.
- Connections: Periodically check all wiring connections for tightness and signs of corrosion. Loose connections can lead to overheating or malfunction.
- Environmental Conditions: Operate the drive within its specified environmental conditions (temperature, humidity, altitude) to prevent premature failure.
- Inspection: Visually inspect the unit for any signs of damage, discoloration, or unusual odors. If any issues are detected, power off the unit immediately and consult a qualified technician.
WARNING: Always disconnect power and wait at least 10 minutes for capacitors to discharge before performing any maintenance or inspection.
