6.2. Bluetooth Pairing
- Ensure your target device (CarPlay Ai Box, TV Box, Computer) has Bluetooth enabled and is in pairing mode.

- On your target device, search for available Bluetooth devices and select "Ottocast Controller" (or similar name) to connect.
- Once connected, the indicator light on the controller will stop flashing and remain solid.
Important Compatibility Note:
- This Bluetooth remote control is NOT available on wireless CarPlay/Android Auto interfaces. It is designed for use with the Android system within the Ai Box.
- If your Ai Box (e.g., Ottocast Play2Video Pro/P3 or P3 lite/Nano) requires touchscreen confirmation for connection (due to protocol protection), you must first pair it on a touchscreen-compatible car display. After successful pairing, you can then transfer and use it with a non-touchscreen vehicle.
- Untested Ai Boxes from other brands may have protocol restrictions. If connection fails, try initializing the product in a touchscreen-equipped car with wired CarPlay support before attempting to use it in your vehicle.
7. Operating Instructions
The Ottocast CarPlay Wireless Controller allows you to navigate and interact with your compatible display. Below are common operations:
7.1. Basic Navigation
- Use the Directional Pad (Up, Down, Left, Right) to move the cursor or highlight items on the screen.
- Press the OK button to select a highlighted item or confirm an action.
- Press the Home button to return to the main interface or home screen.
- Press the Back button to go to the previous screen or menu.
7.2. Media Control
- Use the Previous Track button to go to the beginning of the current track or the previous track.
- Use the Next Track button to skip to the next track.
7.3. Mouse Mode
- Press the Mouse Cursor On/Off button to activate or deactivate the mouse cursor.
- When mouse mode is active, the directional pad controls the cursor movement, and the OK button acts as a left click.
7.4. Adjusting Sensitivity
The video demonstrates how to adjust the sensitivity of the controller's cursor movement. This typically involves navigating to the device's settings menu and finding the "Pointer Speed" or "Mouse Sensitivity" option.
7.5. Moving App Positions
To rearrange app icons on your display, activate mouse mode, select an app icon, and use the directional pad to drag it to the desired position. Press OK to confirm placement.
8. Maintenance
- Cleaning: Use a soft, dry cloth to clean the surface of the controller. Do not use liquid cleaners or abrasive materials.
- Storage: When not in use for extended periods, remove the batteries to prevent leakage. Store the controller in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight.
- Battery Replacement: Replace batteries when the controller's performance degrades or it stops responding.
9. Troubleshooting
| Problem | Possible Solution |
|---|---|
| Controller does not turn on. | Check if batteries are inserted correctly and are not depleted. Replace with new AAA batteries if necessary. |
| Cannot pair with device. |
|
| Controller is unresponsive or laggy. |
|
| "Return" key does not function as expected. | The functionality of the "Return" key can vary depending on the specific application or interface you are using. In some contexts, it may not revert to the previous screen but rather exit an application or perform a different action. This is often due to software design rather than a controller malfunction. |
| Not working with wireless CarPlay/Android Auto. | This controller is specifically designed for the Android system within compatible Ai Boxes and is NOT compatible with wireless CarPlay or Android Auto interfaces. |
10. User Tips
- For quick pairing, long-press the "Back" button and the "OK" button simultaneously, then select the controller from your device's Bluetooth settings.
- If you encounter issues with a new Ai Box, try connecting the controller to a touchscreen-enabled car with wired CarPlay first to complete the initial setup.
11. Warranty and Support
