6. Maintenance
- Cleaning the Sensor: After each use, gently clean the metal probes of the soil sensor with a soft cloth and clean water to remove any soil residue. Ensure the probes are dry before storage.
- Storage: Store the handheld terminal and sensor in the provided suitcase in a dry, cool place away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures.
- Battery Care: Recharge the device regularly, even if not in frequent use, to maintain battery health. Avoid fully discharging the battery for extended periods.
- Probe Protection: The special metal probes are designed for durability, but avoid bending or applying excessive force to prevent damage.
7. Troubleshooting
- Q: Device does not power on.
- A: Ensure the device is fully charged. Connect it to the charging power supply and allow sufficient time for charging.
- Q: Inaccurate or inconsistent readings.
- A:
- Ensure the sensor probes are clean and free of debris.
- Verify that all five pins of the sensor are fully inserted into the soil and making good contact.
- Check soil moisture levels; very dry soil can lead to inaccurate readings. Moisten the soil if necessary.
- Ensure the sensor cable is securely connected to the handheld terminal.
- Q: Data not saving or uploading.
- A:
- Check the device's internal storage capacity.
- For cloud platform upload, ensure the device has a stable 4G connection.
- Refer to the cloud platform's specific instructions for troubleshooting connectivity issues.
8. User Tips
- For best results, take multiple readings in different spots within your test area and average them.
- Always clean the sensor probes immediately after use to prevent corrosion and ensure longevity.
- Keep the device's firmware updated if updates become available (check manufacturer's website).
- When inserting the sensor, avoid rocky or overly compacted soil to prevent damage to the probes.
