  • Speaker: Integrated speaker for audio playback.
  • Volume +: Increase volume.
  • Volume -: Decrease volume.
  • Reset: System reset button.
  • Power on/off: Press and hold to power on or off the device. Short press to turn screen on/off.
  • Home: Returns to the main screen.
  • Recording hole: Microphone for audio recording.
  • 3.5mm output: Audio jack for earphones or external speakers.
  • USB-C port: For charging and data transfer.
  • TF card slot: For inserting a Micro SD/TF card to expand storage.

3. Initial Setup

Charging the Device

Before first use, fully charge your MP3 player. You can charge it using a wall charger or by connecting it to a computer via the provided USB-C cable.

  • Connect the USB-C cable to the player's USB-C port and the other end to a compatible USB power adapter (5V DC, 1A recommended) or a computer's USB port.
  • The battery indicator on the screen will show charging status.
  • New batteries may require several charge and discharge cycles to reach optimal performance.

Powering On/Off

  • To Power On: Press and hold the Power on/off button until the screen lights up.
  • To Power Off: Press and hold the Power on/off button, then follow the on-screen prompts to shut down.
  • Screen On/Off: Short press the Power on/off button to turn the screen on or off without powering down the device.

4. Operating Instructions

Gesture Operations

  • Long press: Press and hold icons for 2 seconds. Long press a blank area of the main screen to enter editing mode.
  • Slide: Swipe your finger across the screen to navigate.
  • Drag: Long press an icon and drag it to a different position on the screen.

Basic Settings

Access the settings menu to configure various device functions.

  • WIFI: Turn on WLAN, select your desired network, and enter the password if it's encrypted.
  • Bluetooth: Turn on Bluetooth, the device will automatically search for available devices. Select a device to pair.
  • Display: Adjust brightness, change wallpaper, set screen sleep time (15 seconds to 30 minutes), simulate color space (Disabled, Monochromacy), adjust font size (small, normal, large, huge), configure screen rotation, and set night light schedules.
  • Sound & Notification: Adjust alarm, ring, and notification volumes. Set default notification sound, touch sound, screen lock sound, or silent mode. Access notifications, Do Not Disturb, and sound enhancement options.
  • APPS: View detailed information about installed applications.
  • Storage & USB: Check available and total space for internal storage and SD card, and view storage usage by each app.
  • Battery: View charge and usage information, standby intelligent power saving, battery percentage, and usage since last full charge.
  • Memory: View average memory usage and memory used by apps.
  • Security: Set screen lock (Swipe, Pattern, Voice, PIN, Password). Note: If setting a password or PIN, write it down to avoid losing access. Manage encryption, password visibility, device administration (allowing unknown sources), and credential storage.
  • Language & input: Set device language and input methods.
  • Backup & reset: Options for network settings reset (WIFI, cellular data, Bluetooth), DRM reset, and factory data reset.
  • System: Set Date & Time, Scheduled power on/off, Auto Shutdown (5/10/15/20 minutes), and view device details.

Music Playback

The M303 supports various audio formats including MP3, OGG, FLAC, AAC, WMA, WAV, APE. You can manage your music library, create playlists, and adjust the equalizer for a personalized listening experience.

Video Playback

Enjoy high-definition videos on the 4.0-inch HD screen. The player supports formats such as RM, AVI, RMVB, 3GP, FLV, MP4, DAT, MKV, MPG, MOV, TS.

File Transfer

5. Maintenance

Battery Care

  • If the device is not used for a long time, charge and discharge it at least once a month to prevent battery damage from over-consumption.
  • Avoid leaving the device in extreme temperatures (below -10°C or above 50°C) for extended periods, as this can deform the device and shorten its service life.

General Care

  • Do not use the equipment during thunderstorms.
  • Do not immerse the device in water for a long time.
  • Do not expose the equipment to direct sunlight for extended periods.

6. Troubleshooting

  • Device turns off unexpectedly: Check battery level. Ensure auto-shutdown settings are configured as desired (System > Auto Shutdown). If the issue persists, perform a factory reset (Backup & reset > factory data reset).
  • Cannot install apps (e.g., Spotify, Kindle, Google Maps): The Oilsky M303 runs on Android 6.0, but direct installation of third-party applications from external sources or app stores like Google Play Store is generally not supported. The device is designed to function with its pre-installed applications and for file transfer.
  • Music playback issues (e.g., only plays one song, doesn't advance): Check your music player settings for shuffle, repeat, and playlist configurations. Ensure you have created a playlist or selected an album/folder for continuous playback.
  • Does not connect with iTunes: The device does not directly sync with iTunes. You can transfer music and video files from your computer to the player's storage via USB cable.
  • Cannot resume audio/video playback: Check the player's settings for "Resume last playing" or similar options, typically found in video player settings.

8. User Tips

  • App Usage: While the device runs Android 6.0, it is primarily designed for media playback and file transfer. Direct installation of third-party apps from external sources or app stores is generally not supported. Utilize the pre-installed applications for music, video, and e-book functions.
  • Music Playback: To ensure continuous music playback, create playlists or select entire albums/folders. Check the music player settings for shuffle and repeat options.
