1. Introduction

The TELEHILL MT02 and MT03 are advanced True RMS Digital Multimeters designed for precise electrical measurements. These devices offer auto-ranging capabilities, non-contact voltage (NCV) detection, and a wide array of measurement functions including AC/DC Voltage, AC/DC Current, Resistance, Capacitance, Frequency, Duty Cycle, and Temperature. Featuring a high-definition VA true color display, these multimeters are suitable for both professional and DIY electrical tasks, providing reliable and accurate readings in various environments.

2. Safety Information

WARNING: Always observe safety precautions when working with electricity. Failure to do so may result in injury or damage to the device.

  • Do not measure voltage exceeding the specified limits for each model (MT02: 600V, MT03: 1000V DC / 750V AC).
  • Ensure test leads are properly connected to the correct input jacks before taking measurements.
  • Inspect test leads for any damage before use. Replace if damaged.
  • Do not operate the multimeter if it appears damaged or if the protective casing is compromised.
  • Adhere to the safety rating: CAT III 600V (MT02) and EN61010-1, -2-030; EN61010-2-033 (MT03).
  • Avoid touching exposed wiring or circuit components while measuring.
  • Use caution when working in damp or wet conditions.

WARNING: DON'T MEASURE VOLTAGE when the device is set to current measurement mode (A socket). This can blow the fuse.

7.3 Battery Care

Recharge the Li-ion battery regularly to maintain its lifespan. Avoid fully discharging the battery frequently. If storing the device for an extended period, ensure the battery is partially charged (around 50%) and recharge it every few months.

8. Troubleshooting

  • "OL" Indication: This means the measurement exceeds the selected range or the maximum capacity of the device. Switch to a higher range (if applicable) or ensure the measured value is within the device's limits.
  • "FUSE BROKEN" / "FUSE" Indication: This indicates a blown fuse, typically occurring during current measurements if the input limits are exceeded. The fuse needs to be replaced. Refer to the full user manual for fuse replacement instructions.
  • No Display / Device Not Turning On: Check the battery level. If low, recharge the device. If the issue persists after charging, contact support.
  • Inaccurate Readings: Ensure test leads are properly connected and not damaged. Verify the correct measurement mode is selected. Clean the test probes and contact points.

9. User Tips

  • Always start with the highest range when measuring an unknown voltage or current to prevent overloading the meter.
  • For continuity tests, ensure the circuit is de-energized to avoid damage to the multimeter.
  • When using NCV, sweep the sensor along the wire or outlet to locate the strongest signal for accurate detection.
  • Utilize the 'HOLD' function to capture readings in hard-to-reach or poorly lit areas.
  • The built-in flashlight is useful for illuminating work areas, especially in electrical panels or dark corners.
