Setup and Installation
Before Installation:
Ensure your door is compatible with the YRHAND X5 smart lock. It is suitable for door thicknesses between 35-55mm and can be used on Steel, Wooden, Brass, and Stainless Steel doors.
Mortise Compatibility:
The lock is compatible with various mortise types including single latch 60/70, and European 5050/6050/3585/4585/6085/6072/5572. If you are unsure about your existing mortise size, please measure it carefully.

Battery Installation:
The lock requires 4 AA alkaline batteries for power. Ensure correct polarity when inserting the batteries.

Operating Instructions
Unlocking Methods:
- Fingerprint Unlock: Place your registered finger on the fingerprint reader. The lock will unlock in approximately 0.5 seconds.
- Passcode Unlock: Enter your registered passcode on the touch keypad.
- M1 Card Unlock: Tap your registered M1 card on the card reading area.
- App Unlock (Tuya Smart Life): Use the Tuya Smart Life app on your smartphone to remotely unlock the door.
- Mechanical Key Unlock: In case of emergency or power failure, use the provided mechanical key to unlock the door.
- Wristband Unlock: Tap your registered wristband on the card reading area.

Locking Mechanisms:
- Automatic Locking: The lock will auto-relock after a set period, ensuring your home is always secure.
- Manual Locking (Push Up Handle): For additional security, lift the handle upwards to engage the deadbolt.
- Deadbolt Button: An internal deadbolt button provides double safety, preventing unauthorized entry from the outside even if the lock is bypassed.

Tuya Smart Life App Features:
- Remote Unlocking: Unlock your door from anywhere using the app.
- Time-Limited Passcodes: Generate temporary passcodes for guests or service providers, valid for a specific duration.
- Temporary Passcodes: Create one-time use passcodes for immediate access.
- Access Records: Keep a full record of who enters and exits your home.
- Virtual Password Function: Input a fake password with your real password embedded within it to prevent onlookers from guessing your code.

Emergency Power Supply:
If the batteries run out, you can use a power bank connected to the USB charging port on the lock's exterior to provide temporary power and unlock the door.

Maintenance
Battery Replacement:
The YRHAND X5 smart lock is powered by 4 AA alkaline batteries. Under normal usage, these batteries can last for approximately 6-12 months (10,000 normal open cycles). Replace all four batteries simultaneously when the low battery indicator appears or voice prompt is heard.
Cleaning:
Wipe the lock's exterior with a soft, damp cloth. Avoid using abrasive cleaners or solvents that could damage the finish or electronic components.
Waterproof Design:
The lock features an IP66 protection level and a waterproof gasket design, making it resistant to rain and dust. However, avoid submerging the lock in water or exposing it to extreme weather conditions for prolonged periods.

Troubleshooting
- Lock not responding: Check battery levels. If batteries are low or dead, use the USB emergency power supply or the mechanical key.
- Fingerprint not recognized: Ensure your finger is clean and dry. Try re-registering your fingerprint if the issue persists.
- Passcode not working: Double-check the entered passcode. Ensure the virtual password function is not causing confusion.
- App connectivity issues: Ensure your smartphone has a stable internet connection and the lock is within WiFi range. Restart the app or the lock if necessary.
- Lock not engaging: Check for any obstructions in the door frame or mortise. Ensure the handle is fully lifted for manual locking.
User Tips:
- Always keep at least one mechanical key in a safe, accessible location outside your home for emergencies.
- Regularly check the battery status through the app or the lock's indicator to avoid being locked out.
- Utilize the virtual password feature to enhance security when entering passcodes in public.
- For families, consider setting up time-limited or temporary passcodes for children or visitors instead of sharing permanent codes.
