1. Introduction
The ATORCH DT20W is a versatile DC power detector designed to measure and display various electrical parameters including voltage, current, power, simulated load resistance, discharge capacity, electricity level, and battery temperature. It also provides over-voltage, low-voltage, and over-power prompts. This device is suitable for a wide range of DC power sources, batteries, and battery packs, including lithium, lithium iron phosphate, lead-acid, and nickel-hydrogen batteries, with working voltages from 0 to 420V.
Important Note on Capacity Measurement: The capacity tested by this product is an accumulated value. Whether in charging or discharging mode, if the data is not reset to zero, the capacity will continue to accumulate. The battery percentage displayed is calculated based on the set fully charged voltage (100% battery voltage) and the cut-off voltage (0% battery voltage). Therefore, before each charge or discharge cycle, it is essential to reset the data to zero to accurately test the battery's single capacity.
This device does not automatically differentiate between charging (capacity add) and discharging (capacity reduce) for the accumulated capacity (AH). It is not a direct calculation based on total capacity (AH) and remaining charge (AH). Please read this carefully to avoid misunderstandings.

2. Safety Information
Always prioritize safety when working with electrical systems. Improper wiring or handling can lead to damage to the device, the battery, or personal injury.
- Power Supply: The DT20W requires an independent DC 5V power supply for operation. Ensure this is connected before use.
- Wiring: Strictly follow the provided wiring diagrams. The current sampler must be connected in series to the negative circuit of the battery. Connecting it to the positive circuit is strictly prohibited.
- Current Path: Ensure that the current line passing through the load is sufficiently thick to handle the required current. A thicker wire diameter is always preferable for safety and performance.
- Relay Connection: If an optional relay is used, it must be powered independently by a 5V source. Do not use the same circuit as the tested power supply for the relay's independent power.

5. Setup
5.1 Initial Power-up
Before using the DT20W, it is crucial to connect an independent DC 5V power supply to the device's USB power supply port. The screen will not display any information until this power supply is connected.

5.2 Wiring Instructions (True Four-Wire Method)
The DT20W uses a true four-wire wiring method for accurate measurements. Please follow the diagram and instructions carefully.
- Sampler Connection: The bidirectional current sampler must be connected in series to the negative electrode circuit of the battery pack. Connect the sampler's B- end to the battery's negative electrode and the P- end to the negative electrode P-/C- for charging and discharging.
- Voltage Sampling: Use one red and one black wire to connect the positive and negative terminals of the battery to the voltage sampling input interface as shown in the diagram. Ordinary thin wires can be used for voltage sampling.
- Device Power: Connect the provided Type-C data cable to a 5V USB power supply to power the product. The display will then operate normally.
- Current Flow Principle: Ensure that all current flowing through the battery passes through the bidirectional current sampler as depicted in the diagram.

- Graph Curve: Real-time data can be enabled for graph curves, with data uploaded to the cloud hourly and displayed as an average.
- Relay Switch: A switch for the relay has been added to the app. This function is active only if the relay package is purchased and the device side is controlled by long pressing the '+' or '-' key.
8. Optional Relay Module
An optional 5V 30A relay can be purchased separately to enable automatic power-off functions for battery protection.
8.1 Functionality
The relay automatically cuts off the circuit when the voltage falls below a set low value or rises above a set full value, protecting the battery from over-discharge or over-charge. It also implements overvoltage, low-voltage, and power outage functions.
8.2 Connection and Attention

- Independent Power: When using a relay, it must be powered independently by a 5V source.
- Relay Connection: Connect the relay to the output positive pole.
- Circuit Isolation: The independent power supply for the relay cannot use the same circuit as the tested power supply.
- Charging Protection: If the battery is being charged, and the input is connected to a charger, the output connected to a fully charged battery will automatically disconnect to prevent overcharging.
- HID Interface: For the relay to function, the USB DC5V power supply needs to be plugged into the HID interface of the DT20W.

9. User Tips
- Capacity Reset: Remember to long press the '+' and '-' buttons simultaneously to reset the accumulated capacity to zero before each new charge or discharge cycle for accurate single-cycle measurements.
- App Notifications: The Tuya Smart/Smart Life app can be configured to send notifications to your phone when voltage or other parameters drop below or exceed specific thresholds, enabling proactive monitoring.
- Home Assistant Integration: While the device supports Tuya/Smart Life, direct integration with Home Assistant may require additional configuration or custom components, as only basic parameters (V, A, W) are typically transferred.
- Solar Panel Monitoring: The DT20W can be used as a wattmeter for solar panels within its specified voltage (0-420V) and current ranges (up to 600A depending on model).
- Multiple Devices: A PC can only connect to one DT20W device via USB at a time. However, the mobile app can manage and monitor multiple DT20W devices simultaneously.
- Battery Compatibility: The device is compatible with various battery types including Lithium, LiFePO4, Lead-Acid, and Nickel-Hydrogen. It also works with AGM and GEL batteries.
10. Troubleshooting
- Screen Not Displaying: Ensure the DT20W is connected to an independent DC 5V USB power supply. The screen requires this power to operate.
- WiFi Connection Failure: If the device fails to connect to WiFi via the app, long press the 'M' button to enter the background settings and select the 'WiFi Reset' option. Also, ensure Bluetooth and location services (GPS) are enabled on your phone during the pairing process.
- Device Turns Off/On Repeatedly: This could indicate an unstable or insufficient 5V power supply. Ensure your USB 5V power source is stable and provides adequate current.
- Bluetooth 'X' Symbol at Startup: The DT20W does not include Bluetooth functionality. The 'X' symbol displayed during startup is a normal part of the device's internal information detection and does not indicate an error.
- Relay Not Functioning: Verify that the optional relay is connected correctly and is receiving its own independent 5V power supply. Also, ensure the DT20W's USB 5V power supply is plugged into the HID interface.
- Capacity Accumulates Incorrectly: The device's capacity measurement is cumulative. For accurate single charge/discharge cycle measurements, you must manually reset the capacity to zero by long-pressing the '+' and '-' buttons simultaneously before starting a new cycle.
11. Maintenance
To ensure the longevity and accurate performance of your ATORCH DT20W, follow these maintenance guidelines:
- Cleaning: Use a soft, dry cloth to clean the device. Do not use abrasive cleaners or solvents, as these can damage the display or casing.
- Storage: Store the device in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight, extreme temperatures, and high humidity.
- Handling: Handle the device with care to avoid physical damage. Do not drop or expose it to excessive vibration.
- Power Supply: Always use a stable and appropriate DC 5V power supply.
