4. Setup
4.1 Battery Selection and Installation
The L2S-SE flashlight is compatible with both 14500 rechargeable lithium-ion batteries and standard Alkaline/NiMH AA batteries. For optimal performance and features like in-flashlight charging, a 14500 lithium-ion battery with a protective plate (e.g., TrustFire-14500 X series) is recommended.
- Unscrew the tail cap of the flashlight.
- Insert the battery with the positive (+) end facing towards the head of the flashlight. The L2S-SE features an anti-reverse connection design to prevent damage from incorrect battery insertion.
- Screw the tail cap back on securely.
Important Battery Warnings:
- Do not use batteries not provided by our store to avoid damaging the battery or flashlight.
- 14500 batteries are industrial batteries, not safe civilian batteries. Improper use (short circuit, high temperature, etc.) may cause burning or explosion, endangering personal and property safety.
- Using high-quality lithium-ion batteries with protection plates can reduce risks. TrustFire series batteries are recommended.
- Alkaline/NiMH batteries can be used, but they CANNOT be charged inside the flashlight via the Type-C port. Attempting to do so may cause damage or present a safety hazard.
4.2 Charging (for 14500 Li-ion batteries only)
If using a 14500 rechargeable lithium-ion battery, you can charge it directly within the flashlight using the provided USB Type-C cable.
- Locate the Type-C charging port on the flashlight body.
- Connect the USB Type-C cable to the flashlight and a suitable USB power source (e.g., computer, wall adapter).
- The flashlight will indicate charging status (e.g., red for charging, green for fully charged).
- Once fully charged, disconnect the cable.
Note: Alkaline/NiMH batteries cannot be charged in the flashlight. Attempting to do so may cause damage or present a safety hazard.
5. Operation
The L2S-SE features a convenient one-button operation located at the tail of the flashlight.
- Power ON/OFF: Press the tail button completely until it clicks to turn the flashlight on or off.
- Shift Gear (Brightness Modes): With the flashlight on, click the tail button repeatedly within 0.5 seconds to cycle through the brightness modes: Low → Middle → High.
- Memory Gear: If the flashlight is left on a specific brightness mode for more than 0.5 seconds before being turned off, it will remember that mode and turn on in the same mode next time.
- Strobe Mode: In the power-off state, quickly press the tail button halfway twice (without fully clicking) to enter strobe mode.
5.1 Low Voltage Warning
When the battery power is low, the flashlight will flash three times every 5 minutes to remind the user to replace or recharge the battery.
6. Maintenance
- Cleaning: Regularly clean the flashlight body with a soft, damp cloth. Avoid using harsh chemicals or abrasive materials.
- Threads and O-rings: Periodically lubricate the screw threads and O-rings with silicone grease to maintain waterproofing and smooth operation. Replace worn O-rings with the provided spares.
- Battery Care: If the flashlight will not be used for an extended period, remove the battery to prevent leakage and damage.
- Waterproof: The L2S-SE is IPX6 waterproof, meaning it is protected against powerful water jets. While it can withstand heavy rain, it is not designed for submersion. Ensure all parts are tightly sealed before exposure to water.
7. Troubleshooting
