5. Setup

5.1 Charging the Device

  1. Connect the provided Type-C charging cable to the charging port on the device.
  2. Plug the other end of the cable into a 5V USB power adapter (not included) or a computer USB port.
  3. The battery indicator on the display will show the charging status. A full charge ensures optimal performance.

5.2 Power On/Off

Press and hold the power button (usually located on the side or back) for a few seconds to turn the device ON or OFF.

5.3 App Connection (for WiFi version)

To view real-time data and control the device remotely, follow these steps:

  1. Download the Tuya Smart or SmartLife app from your mobile app store (Google Play Store or Apple App Store).
  2. Register or log in to your account.
  3. Ensure your mobile phone is connected to a 2.4GHz WiFi network.
  4. Turn on the Air Quality Meter.
  5. In the app, tap '+' to add a new device. Follow the on-screen instructions to put the device into pairing mode (this usually involves pressing and holding a button on the device until an indicator light flashes).
  6. Select the device type (e.g., 'Environmental Sensor' or 'Air Quality Monitor') and proceed with the pairing process.
  7. Once connected, you can view real-time data and access additional features through the app.

6. Operating Instructions

6.1 Reading the Display

The 2.8-inch TFT color display shows various air quality parameters in real-time:

  • HCHO: Formaldehyde concentration (mg/m³)
  • TVOC: Total Volatile Organic Compounds concentration (mg/m³)
  • PM2.5: Fine particulate matter concentration (ug/m³)
  • PM10: Inhalable particulate matter concentration (ug/m³)
  • CO: Carbon Monoxide concentration (ppm)
  • CO2: Carbon Dioxide concentration (ppm)
  • TEMP: Temperature (°C/°F)
  • HUMI: Humidity (%RH)

6.5 Alarm Function

10. User Tips

  • WiFi Connectivity: If you experience issues connecting to the Tuya app, ensure your home WiFi network is 2.4GHz. Many modern routers operate on both 2.4GHz and 5GHz; you may need to temporarily disable 5GHz during the pairing process or ensure your phone is connected to the 2.4GHz band.
  • Initial Readings: Upon first use or after moving to a new environment, allow the device some time (e.g., 5-10 minutes) to stabilize and perform automatic calibration for the most accurate readings.
  • Placement: For general room air quality monitoring, place the device in a central location, away from direct drafts, windows, or vents that might skew readings.
