7. Maintenance

To ensure the longevity and optimal performance of your EDUP SK0017 PoE Injector:

  • Keep the device clean and free from dust and debris. Use a soft, dry cloth for cleaning.
  • Ensure adequate ventilation around the unit to prevent overheating.
  • Regularly check all cable connections to ensure they are secure and free from damage.
  • Avoid exposing the device to water or excessive moisture.
  • Store the device in a cool, dry place when not in use.

8. Troubleshooting

If you encounter issues with your EDUP SK0017 PoE Injector, try the following steps:

  • No Power Indicator Light:
    - Check the power supply connection to the device. Ensure the DC 9-36V/150W power source is active and correctly wired to the terminals with proper polarity.
    - Verify the power supply itself is functioning.
  • No Internet Connection:
    - Confirm that the Starlink dish is properly connected to the PoE port.
    - Check the Ethernet cable connection between the LAN port and your router/PC. Ensure it is a straight-through shielded Ethernet cable.
    - Restart your router and the Starlink dish.
    - Ensure your Starlink dish is receiving a clear view of the sky.
  • Slow Network Speed:
    - Verify that all cables are securely connected.
    - Ensure your router and connected devices support Gigabit Ethernet speeds.
    - Check for any obstructions to the Starlink dish's view.
  • Device Overheating:
    - Ensure the device is placed in a well-ventilated area and not covered.

If problems persist after following these steps, please contact EDUP customer support.

9. User Tips

  • Power Source Flexibility: The wide DC input range (9-36V) makes this injector highly versatile for various power sources in RVs, such as 12V or 24V battery systems. Ensure your power source can deliver the required 15A for 150W output.
  • Output Voltage: While Starlink V2 typically operates at 48V, this injector provides a maximum output of 48V/3A. This is sufficient for the Starlink Standard Actuated V2 dish.
  • Cable Quality: Always use high-quality, shielded Ethernet cables for optimal performance and to minimize interference, especially in outdoor or mobile environments.
  • Environmental Protection: The built-in surge and ESD protection are crucial for outdoor use. However, consider additional external surge protectors for your entire RV electrical system for enhanced safety during thunderstorms.
