2. Important Safety Warnings

  • High-Frequency Noise: The switching power supply may produce a high-frequency noise when unloaded. This is a normal phenomenon for industrial-grade products due to PWM control chip operation at reduced frequencies. The noise level can vary slightly between units due to manufacturing tolerances.
  • Fan Noise: The cooling fan may operate loudly, especially when the ambient temperature is high or under load. This is normal for proper heat dissipation.
  • Power Off When Not In Use: It is strongly recommended to turn off the AC switch when the product is not in use to prevent potential issues and reduce power consumption.
  • Inductive Loads: When connecting inductive loads (e.g., motors), ensure the maximum working voltage and current do not exceed 1/3 of the full range to prevent damage.
  • Do Not Remove PSU Case: Do not remove the shell of the internal power supply unit (PSU) for heat dissipation. Doing so can alter the heat dissipation system, leading to insufficient cooling, overheating, and damage, and will void the after-sales service.
  • Panel Traces: Slight traces at the button holes on the panel are normal due to the injection molding process and do not indicate damage.
  • Battery Charging: The battery charging function should only be used by professionals. Improper use can lead to fire and explosion hazards. Ensure firmware is updated for optimal battery charging experience.

  • Store the power supply in a dry environment, away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures.
  • Regularly check all cable connections for secure fit.

8. Troubleshooting

8.1 Common Issues and Solutions

Q: The input AC to DC switch power supply has high frequency noise. Is this normal?
A: Yes, this is normal. The input AC to DC switch power supply is an industrial-grade product. Due to its large output power range, the PWM control chip may skip some control cycles when unloaded to reduce power consumption. This can cause the working frequency to drop below 20KHz, producing an audible high-frequency noise. The noise level can vary slightly between units due to transformer production processes. This does not affect working performance. It is recommended to turn off the AC switch when not in use.
Q: The cooling fan is loud.
A: The fan may run loudly when the ambient temperature is high or under load to ensure proper cooling. This is normal operation. The fan starts when output current > 8A or system temperature > 45℃, and shuts down when output current < 7.9A and system temperature < 40℃.
Q: Can I use it to power an inductive load?
A: If connecting an inductive load (such as a motor), the maximum working voltage and current should not exceed 1/3 of the full range to prevent damage.
Q: There is a fuse in the box. Should I install it?
A: This is a BACKUP fuse. If the original fuse is burned due to incorrect operation, you can insert this backup fuse into the socket next to the burned one for temporary use. Note that the backup fuse only supports up to 10A. For full output, it is best to remove the damaged fuse and solder a new, appropriate fuse in the same position.
Q: Can I remove the case of the PSU for better heat dissipation?
A: No, do not remove the shell of the internal power supply unit (PSU). Removing the shell will alter the heat dissipation system, leading to insufficient cooling, overheating, and potential damage to components. This will void the after-sales service.
Q: I see some traces on the panel. Is the product damaged?
A: Slight traces at the button holes on the shell are a normal result of the injection molding process and are typically not noticeable during normal use. This is not considered damage.

8.2 Software/App Related Issues (for models with optional WiFi board)

Q: The mobile APP crashes on my phone.
A: App compatibility issues can occur. Ensure your phone runs Android 8.0 or above. It is recommended to download and test the app before purchasing the WiFi board. If the app works fine but crashes, check your phone's operating system and app permissions.
Q: Why can't I connect the RD6030W to my phone APP via WiFi?
A: Ensure the WiFi board is properly inserted. Verify that your WiFi network is 2.4GHz (5G is not supported). Disable client isolation/AP isolation and WMM functions on your router. Also, ensure location and storage services are enabled for the app during installation. If problems persist, contact support.
Q: Why can't I connect the RD6030W to PC via WiFi while I can connect to the Phone?
A: WiFi connection to PC is a test function and may have poor compatibility with some computers. If you cannot connect via WiFi, please use the USB micro cable for PC control. This function is not guaranteed and technical support for it may be limited.

9. User Tips

  • Before purchasing the optional WiFi board, always download and test the PC software and mobile app to ensure compatibility with your operating system and devices.
  • When using the battery charging function, ensure you are familiar with safe battery handling practices and consider updating the firmware for improved performance.
  • For optimal performance and longevity, always operate the power supply within its specified voltage and current limits, especially with inductive loads.
