1. Introduction

This manual provides detailed instructions for setting up, operating, and maintaining your new zap 2AGOFRC451A Voice Remote Control. This remote is specifically designed for use with Verizon Stream TV 4K 2nd (ASK-STI6220) and Verizon Stream TV Soundbar (ASK-STI6251) devices, offering both IR and Bluetooth wireless communication for seamless control.

2. Package Contents

  • 1 x zap 2AGOFRC451A Voice Remote Control

Note: AAA batteries are not included and must be purchased separately.

3. Setup

3.1 Battery Installation

  1. Locate the battery compartment on the back of the remote control.
  2. Slide the battery cover downwards to open it.
  3. Insert two (2) AAA batteries, ensuring the positive (+) and negative (-) terminals align correctly with the markings inside the compartment.
  4. Slide the battery cover back into place until it clicks securely.

3.2 Pairing the Remote Control

The remote control uses Bluetooth for voice commands and enhanced functionality. It needs to be paired with your Verizon Stream TV device or Soundbar.

3.2.1 Initial Setup Pairing

  1. During the initial setup of your Verizon Stream TV device, you will be prompted to pair your remote.
  2. Press and hold the "Play/Pause" and "0" buttons on the remote control simultaneously for 6 seconds.
  3. Release the buttons to enter pairing mode.
  4. If the 'pairing your remote' screen does not display, ensure your Stream TV Soundbar is in Bluetooth® discovery mode or use the remote control app.

3.2.2 Manually Pairing from Bluetooth Button (Soundbar)

  1. Press and hold the Bluetooth icon button on the side of your Stream TV Soundbar for 1 second.
  2. Press and hold the "Play/Pause" and "0" buttons on the remote control simultaneously for 6 seconds.

3.2.3 Manually Pairing from Stream TV Home Screen

  1. From the Stream TV Home screen, navigate to and select the Settings menu (represented by a gear icon). Use the 5-way navigation pad on the remote to highlight and the OK button to select.
  2. Select Remote & Accessories.
  3. Select Add accessory. The device will become visible to nearby devices while 'Searching for accessories' is open.
  4. Follow the on-screen prompts to connect your Verizon remote.

4. Operating the Remote Control

4.1 Button Functions Overview

  • INPUT: Selects input source.
  • Power: Turns the device on or off.
  • Rewind: Rewinds media playback.
  • Fast Forward: Fast forwards media playback.
  • Play & Pause: Plays or pauses media playback.
  • OK (Enter): Confirms selections or enters menus.
  • Navigation (Up/Down/Left/Right): Navigates through menus and content.
  • Google Assistant: Activates voice control for commands and searches.
  • Home: Returns to the home screen.
  • Back: Returns to the previous screen or menu.
  • GUIDE: Opens the program guide.
  • Volume Up/Down (+/-): Adjusts the volume level.
  • Mute: Mutes or unmutes audio.
  • Channel Up/Down (</>): Changes channels.
  • Number Buttons (0-9): Direct channel input or numerical entry.
  • INFO: Displays information about current content.
  • APPS: Accesses installed applications.

5. Maintenance

5.1 Cleaning

To clean your remote control, use a soft, dry cloth. Do not use liquid cleaners, sprays, or abrasive materials, as these can damage the remote's surface or internal components.

5.2 Battery Care

If the remote control will not be used for an extended period, remove the batteries to prevent leakage and potential damage to the device.

6. Troubleshooting

  • Remote not responding:
    Check if the batteries are correctly inserted and have sufficient charge. Replace them if necessary. Ensure there are no obstructions between the remote and your device. If using Bluetooth, try re-pairing the remote (refer to Section 3.2).
  • Voice commands not working:
    Ensure the remote is properly paired via Bluetooth. Speak clearly and directly into the remote's microphone. Check for any background noise that might interfere with voice recognition.
  • Short operating range:
    Replace the batteries with fresh ones. Ensure there are no large metallic objects or other electronic devices causing interference between the remote and your Stream TV device/Soundbar.
