7. Operating Instructions
Before operating, ensure 2x AAA batteries are installed in the battery compartment (see Figure 6).

The following video demonstrates the operation of various functions of the 3266TD model:
7.1. AC Voltage Measurement
- Set the function knob to the AC Voltage (V~) range.
- Insert the red test lead into the V/Ω/Hz input terminal and the black test lead into the COM terminal.
- Connect the test probes across the circuit or component to be measured.
- Read the AC voltage value on the display.

7.2. DC Voltage Measurement
- Set the function knob to the DC Voltage (V-) range.
- Insert the red test lead into the V/Ω/Hz input terminal and the black test lead into the COM terminal.
- Connect the test probes across the DC source or component, observing polarity.
- Read the DC voltage value on the display.
7.3. AC Current Measurement (Clamp)
- Set the function knob to the AC Current (A~) range.
- Open the clamp jaw using the trigger.
- Enclose only one conductor of the circuit with the clamp jaw. Do not clamp multiple wires.
- Read the AC current value on the display.

7.4. Resistance Measurement
- Set the function knob to the Resistance (Ω) range.
- Insert the red test lead into the V/Ω/Hz input terminal and the black test lead into the COM terminal.
- Ensure the circuit is de-energized before measuring resistance.
- Connect the test probes across the component to be measured.
- Read the resistance value on the display.

7.5. Diode Measurement
- Set the function knob to the Diode (→|) range.
- Insert the red test lead into the V/Ω/Hz input terminal and the black test lead into the COM terminal.
- Connect the red probe to the anode and the black probe to the cathode of the diode.
- Read the forward voltage drop on the display. Reverse the probes to check for open circuit (OL).

7.6. Continuity Measurement
- Set the function knob to the Continuity (•))) range.
- Insert the red test lead into the V/Ω/Hz input terminal and the black test lead into the COM terminal.
- Connect the test probes across the circuit or component.
- If continuity exists (low resistance), the buzzer will sound.

7.7. Capacitance Measurement (3266TD only)
- Set the function knob to the Capacitance (F) range.
- Insert the red test lead into the V/Ω/Hz input terminal and the black test lead into the COM terminal.
- Ensure the capacitor is fully discharged before measurement.
- Connect the test probes across the capacitor.
- Read the capacitance value on the display.

7.8. Frequency Measurement (3266TD only)
- Set the function knob to the Frequency (Hz) range.
- Insert the red test lead into the V/Ω/Hz input terminal and the black test lead into the COM terminal.
- Connect the test probes across the circuit to measure frequency.
- Read the frequency value on the display.
7.9. Temperature Measurement (3266TD only)
- Set the function knob to the Temperature (°C/°F) range.
- Insert the temperature probe into the V/Ω/Hz and COM terminals, observing polarity if applicable.

7.10. NCV (Non-Contact Voltage) Detection
- Set the function knob to the NCV position.
- Bring the top of the clamp meter near a live conductor.
- The NCV induction light will illuminate and an audible alarm will sound if AC voltage is detected.
8. Maintenance
- Cleaning: Wipe the meter with a dry, soft cloth. Do not use abrasives or solvents.
- Battery Replacement: When the low battery indicator appears on the display, replace the 2x AAA batteries immediately to ensure accurate readings.
- Storage: If the meter is not to be used for a long period, remove the batteries to prevent leakage. Store in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight.
- Calibration: For professional use, periodic calibration by qualified personnel is recommended to maintain accuracy.
9. Troubleshooting
| Problem | Possible Cause | Solution |
|---|---|---|
| No display/Power off | Dead batteries; Auto shutdown activated | Replace batteries; Turn the knob to OFF and then to desired function to restart. |
| "OL" or "OVER" displayed | Overload; Out of range | Select a higher range (if available) or ensure measurement is within meter's limits. |
| Inaccurate readings | Low battery; Incorrect function/range; External interference | Replace batteries; Double-check function/range selection; Move away from strong electromagnetic fields. |
| NCV not detecting | No live voltage; Too far from conductor | Ensure conductor is live; Bring meter closer to the conductor. |
10. User Tips
- For AC current measurements, always clamp around a single conductor, not a power cord containing multiple conductors, as the magnetic fields will cancel out, resulting in a zero reading.
- When measuring resistance or continuity, always ensure the circuit is de-energized and any capacitors are discharged to prevent damage to the meter or inaccurate readings.
- Utilize the backlight and flashlight features in low-light conditions for improved visibility and safety.
- The Data Hold function is useful for taking readings in hard-to-reach areas where the display might not be immediately visible.
