3. Product Overview
3.1. Device Layout and Buttons
Familiarize yourself with the buttons and ports on your Oilsky D22 MP3 Player:

- Power ON/OFF: Located on the side. Long press for 3 seconds to turn on/off.
- TF Card Slot: For external memory expansion (up to 128GB Micro SD card).
- Volume + / Volume -: Adjusts volume. Also used for navigation in some menus.
- Speaker: Built-in speaker for audio playback without headphones.
- Type C USB: For charging and data transfer.
- Headphone Jack: 3.5mm port for wired headphones.
- Reset Hole: Small pinhole for device reset.
- Menu Button (top left on screen): Accesses sub-menus within applications.
- Confirm / Play/Pause Button (center square on screen): Confirms selections, plays/pauses media.
- Navigation Buttons (arrows on screen): Move through menus, tracks, or pages.

- Return: Go back to the previous screen.
- Menu: Access sub-menus. Long press to lock/unlock the screen.
- Confirm / Play/Pause: Confirm selection, play/pause music, move to next FM station (Auto tune), start/stop autoplay (Ebook).
- Up/Down Navigation: Move between tracks/folders, adjust volume (+/-), navigate Ebook pages.
- Left/Right Navigation: Switch tracks, adjust brightness (+/-), move between FM stations (Manual tune), navigate photos.

4. Setup Instructions
4.1. Charging the Player
Ensure your MP3 player is fully charged before first use.
- Using a 5V-1A Charger: Plug one end of the USB-C cable into the USB port of a 5V-1A charger (not included), and the other end into the Type C port on your device. Once fully charged, disconnect the cable by pulling it straight outward.
- Charging by Computer: Connect the device to a running computer via the included USB-C cable.
Note:
- To prevent battery deterioration, it is recommended to charge the battery at least once a year.
- The device has a 300mAh battery.
4.2. Data Transfer
You can transfer media files to your MP3 player using the supplied USB-C cable.
- Connect your MP3 player to your computer using the USB-C cable.
- The device will appear as a removable disk (flash drive) on your computer.
- Drag and drop your desired music, photo, or e-book files into the appropriate folders on the device.
Attention:
- Only 4000 music tracks can be displayed in the main music lists. For complete access to all tracks, navigate through the 'Folder' view.
- If your computer does not detect the MP3 Player, try updating your USB drivers or using a different USB-C cable.
- This device is not compatible with iTunes for music management.

4.3. Memory Expansion
The Oilsky D22 MP3 Player comes with 64GB of internal memory and supports expansion up to 128GB via a Micro SD (TF) card. Insert the Micro SD card into the TF Card Slot until it clicks into place.
5. Operating Instructions
5.1. Power On/Off and Reset
- Power On/Off: Long press the power button for 3 seconds.
- Reset: If the device becomes unresponsive, long press the power button for 15 seconds to perform a hard reset.
5.2. Touch Control and Screen Lock
- Touch Control: Tap the on-screen keys to navigate and control the MP3 player. Note that the device features touch buttons, not a full touchscreen display.
- Lock Screen: Long press the Menu button to lock the screen, preventing accidental touches. Long press the Menu button again to unlock.
5.3. Music Playback
The player supports MP3, WAV, FLAC, APE, and OGG audio formats.

From the main menu, select 'Music' to access:
- All songs: Browse your entire music library.
- Resume: Continue playback from where you left off.
- Now Playing/Last Played: View current or recently played tracks.
- Artists, Albums, Genres: Organize and browse music by categories.
- Playlists: Manage and play custom playlists.
- Update playlist: Refresh your music library.
- Card Folder: Access music directly from the inserted Micro SD card.
- Local Folder: Access music stored in the internal memory.
While a song is playing, tap the Menu button (top left) to access a sub-menu with options like:
- Repeat: Repeat off, Repeat 1 (current track), Repeat all.
- Shuffle: Play tracks in random order.
- Equalizer: Choose from preset sound modes (Rock, Funk, Hip Hop, Classical, Techno, Custom) or turn off.
- Variable speed playback: Adjust playback speed (-8 to 8 rates).
- Volume limit: Set a maximum volume (Max. 31).
- Playlists: Add/remove songs from playlists. Note: The 3 default playlists cannot be edited.
- Bookmarks: Add, go to, or delete bookmarks for audiobooks.
5.4. Bluetooth Connectivity
The D22 MP3 Player features Bluetooth 5.0 for wireless audio streaming.

How to pair with Bluetooth devices:
- Navigate to: Bluetooth > Bluetooth on/off > Bluetooth on to enable Bluetooth mode.
- Select Search for Device to find nearby Bluetooth devices.
- From the Device list, choose the Bluetooth device you wish to pair with and press the Confirm button.
- Once connected, a green Bluetooth icon will appear on the screen.
Attention:
- The D22 cannot pair with smartphones, PCs, or car Bluetooth systems. It is designed to connect with Bluetooth earphones or speakers only.
- If you previously turned off the MP3 player, you must select 'Bluetooth' to reconnect to your Bluetooth device.
- If your Bluetooth earphones are connected to another device (e.g., a mobile phone), disconnect them before attempting to pair with the D22 to avoid connection failure.
- When listening to FM radio via Bluetooth, wired headphones must be connected to act as an antenna.
5.5. FM Radio
To use the FM Radio function, you must connect wired earphones, as they serve as the antenna.
From the main menu, select 'FM Radio'. Options include:
- Presets: Access saved stations.
- Manual Tune: Manually search for FM stations.
- Auto Tune: Automatically search and save available stations.
- FM Recording: Record FM broadcasts. Recordings can be saved to Local Folder or Card Folder.
While playing FM Radio, tap the Menu button to access options like:
- Start FM Recording: Begin recording the current broadcast (up to 30 stations can be saved).
- Clear station: Delete saved stations.
- Tuner region: Select your region (Common Band: 87.0-108.0 MHz, Japan Band: 76-90 MHz, European Band: 87.0-108.0 MHz).
5.6. E-book Reader
The E-book function supports ONLY TXT files.
From the main menu, select 'Ebook'.
- Use the navigation buttons to turn pages (previous/next).
- While reading, tap the Menu button to access a sub-menu with options:
- Last played: Go to the last read page.
- Autoplay settings: Configure automatic page turning (2 to 30 seconds interval).
- Delete e-book: Remove the current e-book.
- Select bookmark: Choose a saved bookmark.
- Delete bookmark: Remove a bookmark.
- Add bookmark: Create a bookmark for the current page.
- Page select: Jump to a specific page.
5.7. Photos Viewer
The Photos function supports ONLY JPG and BMP image formats.
From the main menu, select 'Pictures'. Use the navigation buttons to view previous or next images.
5.8. Voice Recorder
The device can record audio via its built-in microphone or through Line-In.
From the main menu, select 'Recorder'. Options include:
- Start voice recording: Begin a new recording.
- Recordings library: Access saved recordings (Local folder or Card folder).
- Record from: Choose input source (Microphone or Line in).
- Record format: Select MP3 or WAV.
- Set REC bitrate: Choose recording quality (512kbps, 768kbps, 1024kbps, 1536kbps). Higher bitrate means better sound quality.
How to record from Line-in:
- Connect the MP3 player to your smartphone or another audio device using a 3.5mm AUX cable (not included).
- Select Recordings > Record from > Line in.
- Press the Return button to go back, then select Start voice recording.
- After saving the file, you can play it from the Recordings library.
5.9. Settings
From the main menu, select 'Settings' to customize your device:
- Language: Select device language.
- Display settings:
- Brightness: Adjust screen brightness (0-11).
- Backlight timer: Set backlight duration (10s, 20s, 30s, Always on).
- Screensaver: Choose None or Digital clock.
- Button Light: Turn button backlight OFF, ON, or Always on.
- Speaker switch: Turn built-in speaker On or Off.
- Sleep timer: Set a timer (1-99 Minutes) for the device to auto-shutdown regardless of operation.
- Power management: Set a timer (1-99 Minutes) for the device to auto-shutdown when no music is playing and no operations are performed.
- Date and time:
- Time settings: Set time format (12-hours, 24-hours) and set time.
- Date settings: Set date format (DD MM YYYY, MM DD YYYY, YYYY MM DD) and set date.
- Information: View player info and disk space.
- Format Device: Format internal memory or SD card.
- Factory settings: Restore device to default settings.

7. Troubleshooting
- Device is unresponsive or frozen: Long press the POWER button for about 10 seconds to restart the MP3 player.
- Computer does not detect the MP3 player: Try updating your computer's USB drivers or use a different USB-C cable.
- Bluetooth pairing fails: Ensure the MP3 player is not attempting to connect to a smartphone, PC, or car (it only pairs with BT earphones/speakers). If your Bluetooth earphones are connected to another device, disconnect them first.
- FM Radio not working: Make sure wired headphones are plugged into the 3.5mm jack, as they function as the antenna.
- Music files not appearing in lists: Only 4000 music tracks are displayed in the main music lists. For all tracks, navigate through the 'Folder' view.
- E-book files not opening: Ensure the e-book files are in TXT format. Other formats are not supported.
- Cannot edit default playlists: The 3 default playlists are fixed. To better organize your music, create custom playlists on your PC and transfer them.
8. User Tips
- Playlist Management: For optimal organization, it is recommended to create and manage your music playlists on a computer rather than relying solely on the device's default playlists.
- Battery Longevity: To maintain battery health, charge the device at least once a year, even if not in regular use.
- Screen Lock: Utilize the screen lock feature (long press Menu button) during activities like sports to prevent unintended operations from accidental touches.
- Pedometer Function: The device includes a pedometer. Explore this feature in the main menu to track your steps during workouts.
- Line-in Recording: Take advantage of the Line-in recording feature to transfer audio directly from other devices (like smartphones) to your MP3 player, expanding your music library easily.
