- When expecting freezing temperatures, the timer should be removed from the hose faucet and stored indoors to avoid potential freeze damage.
- The built-in filter traps dirt particles, prolonging the life of the timer. Clean the filter regularly and replace if worn.

Components
The HCT-322 Water Timer features an LCD display, battery compartment, and control buttons. It connects to a hose tap and has a water outlet.

Setup
1. Install the Batteries
- Remove the battery compartment cover on the backside of the timer.
- Follow the +/- marks to place 2 new 1.5V 'AA' alkaline batteries (not included).
- Firmly reinstall the battery compartment cover back into the timer to ensure water resistance.
Battery Caution:
- Only 1.5V 'AA' alkaline batteries can be used.
- Replace batteries when the low battery indicator appears on the screen.
- While replacing, please make sure that the battery compartment is dry. Water on the batteries may cause the timer to work improperly.
- When not using the timer for a long time, remove the batteries to prevent them from leaking and damaging the timer.
- Used or dead batteries must be disposed of properly according to local laws and regulations.
2. Install the Timer
- Attach the timer to an outdoor hose faucet and the water outlet to the water pipe firmly. While rotating, please follow the direction of the thread.
- The stainless steel filter has been built in. Use O-ring / adapter / quick connector / PTFE tape if necessary to prevent leaks.
- Please turn on the tap after programming the timer.

Installation Caution:
- The timer is for outdoor use only.
- Horizontal or inverted installation is prohibited.
- Do not use tools on the timer; hand tighten only.
- The filter traps dirt particles, prolonging the life of the timer. Clean the filter regularly and replace if worn.
- The timer itself does not generate pressure, but uses the pressure of tap water. Tap water or a pressurized water source ensures normal effluent from the timer.
- When expecting freezing temperatures, the timer should be removed from the hose faucet and stored indoors to avoid potential freeze damage.

3. Product Setup (Programming)
Programs are set based on watering logic. Use the +/DELY and - buttons to adjust values, and the /OK button to confirm and move to the next setting.

Step 1: Set Current Time (NOW)
- Press the /OK button to enter time setting.
- Use + and - buttons to set the desired hour, then press /OK.
- Use + and - buttons to set the desired minutes, then press /OK. The timer will automatically proceed to set START TIME.
Step 2: Set Irrigation Start Time (START TIME)
- Use + and - buttons to set the desired hour, then press /OK.
- Use + and - buttons to set the desired minutes, then press /OK. The timer will automatically proceed to set HOW LONG.
Step 3: Set Irrigation Duration (HOW LONG)
- Use + and - buttons to set the watering duration from 1-59 seconds or 1-299 minutes.
- Press the /OK button to save changes. The timer will automatically proceed to set HOW OFTEN.
Step 4: Set Irrigation Frequency (HOW OFTEN)
- Use + and - buttons to set the watering frequency from 1-23 hours or 1-15 days.
- Press the /OK button to save changes. The timer will automatically return to the main screen.
Programming Tips:
- Always press the /OK button to save each change.
- If no button operation is performed within 30 seconds, the timer will automatically return to the main screen.
- Pressing the ESC/OFF button during setup will also return the timer to the main screen.
Operation
Manual Watering
This feature allows you to water without interrupting your set timing program.
- Press the water drop icon button to enter the setting screen.
- Use the + and - buttons to set the desired watering duration from 1-59 seconds or 1-299 minutes.
- Press the /OK button to save changes. The timer will automatically start watering, and the run time will be shown on the screen with a blinking icon.
To stop manual watering midway, press the water drop icon button again.
Delay Watering
The DELAY function postpones watering for a set frequency without interrupting the timing program.
- Hold the +/DELAY button for 3 seconds.
- The DELAY icon will display on the screen, and the NEXT START time will update.
To remove the DELAY function midway, hold the +/DELAY button for 3 seconds again.
Child Lock
This feature helps avoid mistaken operation and makes the timer safe from children's activities.
- Hold the - and +/DELAY buttons together for 3 seconds.
- A lock icon will appear on the screen, indicating the function is activated.
To remove the CHILD LOCK function, hold the - and +/DELAY buttons together for another 3 seconds.
During CHILD LOCK, no buttons will respond.
OFF Mode
Activate OFF mode if you want to stop the timing program for an extended period.
- Hold the ESC/OFF button for 3 seconds.
- The current time, battery indicator, and OFF will display on the screen.
To remove OFF mode, hold the ESC/OFF button for another 3 seconds.
During OFF mode, the timer will not water automatically. The set timing program data is saved and will resume once OFF mode is removed.
Maintenance
- Clean the built-in filter regularly to prevent dirt particles from affecting performance and prolonging the timer's life. Replace if worn.
- When cleaning the timer, gently wipe it with a small amount of water. Avoid using alcohol, thinner, or other corrosive substances, especially on the LCD display.
- Store the timer away from humidity and in a dust-free, enclosed place.
- During freezing temperatures (below 3°C), remove the timer from the faucet, drain any internal water, and store it indoors to prevent damage.

Troubleshooting
The LCD does not display anything when batteries are installed.
- Check if the two batteries loaded are new 1.5V AA alkaline batteries.
- Ensure the batteries are properly placed as per the +/- marks.
- If no button operation is performed within 30 seconds, the LCD screen will go to sleep. Press any button to light it up.
Water does not come out at the pre-set time.
- Check if the current time is set incorrectly.
- Ensure the start time for watering is set accurately.
- If you have made recent changes to the current time or timing program, the timer will execute the watering plan according to the latest settings.
- Verify that you are not currently setting a timing program plan.
- Check if the Delay function is on. Clear it if necessary.
- Ensure the timer is not in OFF Mode.
- The battery power might be exhausted. Replace with new batteries.
- The filter might be jammed with dirt. Clear or replace if necessary.
- Ensure the faucet is turned on.
The hose tap connection/outlet leaks.
- Check if the filter is well pressed to the end of the tap connection.
- Inspect the hose tap connection/outlet/water pipe for damage.
- If the faucet/water pipe has a different thread inconsistent with that of the timer, use an appropriate adapter, O-ring, quick connector, or PTFE tape if needed.
User Tips
- Single Start Time: The timer supports one primary start time and then repeats based on the set frequency ('How Often'). It does not support setting multiple distinct start times (e.g., 5 AM and 9 PM daily) without using the frequency interval.
- Connector Type: Always double-check whether you need a Type-A (BS Connector) or Type-B (UN Connector) based on your country's plumbing standards (e.g., US, Canada, Mexico typically use Type-B).
- Battery Check: Regularly check the battery indicator on the display to avoid unexpected interruptions in your watering schedule.
