4. Maintenance
To ensure the longevity and optimal performance of your AUTOABC multimedia screen, follow these maintenance guidelines:
- Cleaning: Use a soft, lint-free cloth to gently wipe the screen. For stubborn smudges, slightly dampen the cloth with water or a screen-safe cleaner. Avoid harsh chemicals, abrasive materials, or excessive moisture.
- Temperature: Avoid exposing the unit to extreme temperatures, both hot and cold, for extended periods.
- Software Updates: Periodically check for software updates from AUTOABC to ensure you have the latest features and bug fixes.
- Cable Connections: Ensure all cables are securely connected. Loose connections can lead to intermittent issues.
5. Troubleshooting
If you encounter any issues with your AUTOABC multimedia screen, refer to the following troubleshooting tips:
5.1. No Sound Output
- Ensure your car's audio system is set to the AUX input. The Linux system car stereo sound is routed through the AUX channel.
- Check all audio cable connections between the AUTOABC unit and your car's head unit.
- Verify that the volume on both the AUTOABC unit and your car's audio system is turned up.
5.2. CarPlay/Android Auto Not Connecting
- For wireless connection, ensure Bluetooth is enabled on your phone and paired with the AUTOABC unit (look for a device named 'CAR-BT-XXXX'). Confirm any authorization requests on your phone.
- For wired connection, use a high-quality data cable to connect your iPhone/Android phone to the unit's USB port.
- Ensure your phone's operating system is up to date.
- Restart both your phone and the AUTOABC unit.
5.3. Display Issues
- If the screen is blank or flickering, check the LVDS plug connection to the main control unit.
- Ensure the power cable is securely connected.
5.4. General Performance Issues
- If the system is slow or unresponsive, try restarting the unit.
- Ensure all functions are tested before finalizing the installation to rule out installation-related issues.
5.5. Right-Hand Drive (RHD) Vehicle Compatibility
The system is designed to integrate with the vehicle's existing display. While the core functionality remains the same, the CarPlay/Android Auto interface orientation (e.g., sidebar placement) is typically determined by the software and may not be adjustable for RHD specific layouts. Please verify the display orientation during the initial testing phase.
