9. Maintenance
Cleaning:
- Wipe the tester's housing with a soft, damp cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners or solvents.
- Ensure the test clips are clean and free of corrosion for accurate readings.
Storage:
- Store the tester in a dry, cool place, away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures.
- If applicable, use the provided storage bag (ET2202) to protect the device and accessories.
- Keep out of reach of children.
10. Troubleshooting
Common Issues and Solutions:
- Tester does not power on:
Ensure the test clips are securely connected to the correct battery terminals (red to positive, black to negative). The tester draws power from the battery being tested. - Inaccurate readings:
Check for clean connections on the battery terminals and test clips. Ensure the correct battery type (e.g., AGM, GEL, STD) and CCA value are selected in the tester's settings. - Error message displayed:
Refer to the specific error code in the full user manual (if available) or disconnect and reconnect the tester to reset. Ensure the battery voltage is within the operational range (12V/24V). - Temperature function not working (ET2202):
Verify the temperature probe is correctly plugged in. Ensure an external power source is connected via the Type-C port if the battery under test cannot provide sufficient power for this specific function. - Tester not responding to button presses:
Try pressing the RESET key. If unresponsive, disconnect and reconnect the tester.
11. User Tips
- For consistent results, always test the battery when it is fully charged and at a stable temperature.
- If testing a battery that has recently been charged or discharged, allow it to rest for at least 30 minutes before testing to ensure accurate readings.
- Regularly check your battery's health, especially before long trips or during seasonal changes, to prevent unexpected breakdowns.
- Keep the tester's screen clean for optimal visibility of results.
- When performing dynamic tests (starting, charging, load), ensure the engine RPM is maintained within the specified ranges for the duration of the test.
