Introduction
The AURSINC Radioberry Preamp Board V2 is an open-source project designed to function as an HF power amplifier, providing an output of 1.5W-3W. It is intended for use with a larger 10W-100W PA and is assembled with the Radioberry and Radioberry Juice USB Board to create a complete Software Defined Radio (SDR) transceiver. This manual provides detailed instructions for assembly, operation, and maintenance of the board.
Note: This board is not compatible with Raspberry Pi. It is designed for computer-controlled operation when assembled with the Radioberry Juice USB board.

Setup and Assembly
The Radioberry Preamp Board V2 is designed to be integrated with a Radioberry board and a Radioberry Juice USB board. Follow these steps for proper assembly:
- Place the main Radioberry board in the middle of your stack.
- Mount the Radioberry Preamp Board V2 directly above the Radioberry board.
- Mount the Radioberry Juice USB board below the main Radioberry board.
- Use the provided screws, nuts, and plastic columns to secure the boards together, ensuring proper alignment of connectors.
- Connect the SMA cables:
- Connect one SMA cable from the Rx port on the Preamp Board to the corresponding Rx port on the Radioberry.
- Connect one SMA cable from the Tx port on the Preamp Board to the corresponding Tx port on the Radioberry.
- Connect the remaining SMA cable from the ANT port on the Preamp Board to your antenna.
- Connect the 8V battery-powered wire to the designated 5-9V DC input on the Preamp Board. Ensure correct polarity (GND and 5-9V).
- Connect the connecting row needle as required for inter-board communication or specific functionalities.

Operating Instructions
Once assembled, the Radioberry Preamp Board V2 is controlled via a computer connected to the Radioberry Juice USB board. Follow these general steps for operation:
- Connect the Radioberry Juice USB board to your computer using a Type-C USB cable.
- Ensure all necessary drivers and SDR software (e.g., SparkSDR) are installed on your computer.
- Launch your SDR software.
- Navigate to the radio settings within the software.
- Locate the "PA" (Power Amplifier) tab or section.
- Enable the PA function by checking the "Enable PA" option.

- Adjust the "Tune drive" and "PTT hang time" settings as needed for optimal performance and to prevent damage to your radio. Refer to your SDR software's documentation for specific recommendations.

Maintenance
The Radioberry Preamp Board V2 is a robust electronic component designed for long-term use. To ensure its longevity and optimal performance:
- Keep the board clean and free from dust and debris. Use a soft, dry brush or compressed air for cleaning.
- Avoid exposing the board to extreme temperatures, humidity, or direct sunlight.
- Handle the board with care to prevent physical damage to components or connectors.
- Ensure all connections (SMA cables, power wires) are secure before operation.
- Regularly check for any loose components or signs of wear.
Troubleshooting
- No Power/Board Not Responding:
- Verify that the 8V battery-powered wire is correctly connected and providing the specified 5-9V DC.
- Check the polarity of the power connection.
- Ensure the Radioberry Juice USB board is properly connected to the computer and receiving power.
- No RF Output or Low Power:
- Confirm all SMA cable connections are secure and correctly routed (Rx, Tx, ANT).
- Check the "Enable PA" setting in your SDR software.
- Review the "Tune drive" settings in your SDR software; incorrect settings can lead to low output.
- Ensure the RF input does not exceed 20dbm Max.
- Software Not Detecting Board:
- Ensure the Radioberry Juice USB board is correctly connected to your computer via Type-C USB.
- Verify that all necessary drivers for the Radioberry Juice USB board and SDR software are installed and up to date.
- Restart your computer and SDR software.
