5. Setup

5.1. Charging the Device

Before first use, fully charge the TK-X2 unit. Connect the provided USB Type-C cable to the charging port on the device and to a USB power source (e.g., computer, wall adapter). The charging indicator light will show the charging status. A full charge typically takes about 3 hours.

5.2. Battery Status Indicator

Upon power-up, the device audibly informs you of the battery status (e.g., 'Battery full', 'Battery medium', or 'Battery low').

5.3. Choosing the Right Microphone

5.4. Helmet Installation

There are two primary methods for installing the TK-X2 unit onto your helmet:

Method 1: Clip Mount

  1. Loosen the screws on the clip mount using the provided Allen wrench.
  2. Slide the clip mount onto the edge of your helmet, ensuring it is securely positioned.
  3. Tighten the screws to fix the clip mount firmly.
  4. Slide the TK-X2 unit onto the clip mount until it clicks into place.

Method 2: Adhesive Mount

  1. Clean the desired mounting area on your helmet thoroughly.
  2. Peel off the protective backing from the adhesive mount.
  3. Firmly press the adhesive mount onto the helmet surface for at least 30 seconds.
  4. Slide the TK-X2 unit onto the adhesive mount until it clicks into place.

After mounting the unit, install the speakers inside the helmet's ear pockets and route the microphone to a suitable position near your mouth, ensuring it does not obstruct your vision or helmet closure.

6. Operating Instructions

6.1. Power On/Off

  • Power On: Press and hold the Power button for approximately 3 seconds until you hear an audible prompt and the indicator light illuminates.
  • Power Off: Press and hold the Power button for approximately 3 seconds until you hear an audible prompt and the indicator light turns off.

6.2. Bluetooth Pairing with Mobile Device

  1. With the TK-X2 powered off, press and hold the Power button for about 5-7 seconds until the indicator light flashes red and blue alternately, indicating pairing mode.
  2. On your mobile phone (e.g., iPhone, Android), enable Bluetooth and search for available devices.
  3. Select "TK-X2" from the list of devices. Once paired, the indicator light will flash blue slowly.

6.3. Intercom Communication

The TK-X2 supports full-duplex intercom communication for up to three riders, with a prioritized two-way conversation system.

  1. Pairing Intercom Units: Follow the specific pairing instructions in the full user manual for connecting multiple TK-X2 units. Generally, this involves putting both units into intercom pairing mode simultaneously.
  2. Initiating Intercom: Once paired, a short press of the Intercom button on either unit will initiate a conversation.

  • Answer Call: Short press the Phone button.
