Setup and Connection
One-Touch Wake Function & Pairing Modes
Before establishing a wireless connection, select the corresponding device mode using the toggle switch on the rear of the controller.
- 2.4G Mode: Automatically matched based on the connected device; Indicator 1# flashes.
- PC Mode: Device Name: Xbox Wireless Controller; Indicator 2# flashes.
- Switch Mode: Device Name: Pro Controller; Indicator 3# flashes.
- Mobile Mode: Device Name: Xbox Wireless Controller; Indicator 4# flashes.
Entering Pairing Mode: Press and hold the Home button for 5 seconds while the controller is powered off. The indicator light will flash rapidly, indicating pairing mode. Connect to the corresponding device name.
Switching Paired Devices: After powering off the controller (press and hold Home button for 5 seconds), select the desired mode, then long-press the Home button to re-enter pairing mode for the new device.
Controller Sleep/Reconnection: During wireless connections (Bluetooth/2.4G), the controller will automatically power off and enter sleep mode if left idle for 10 minutes. To reconnect, simply press the Home button to wake the controller; it will automatically reconnect to the last paired device.
Connecting in 2.4G Mode (PC, Switch, Android TV)
The 2.4G dongle can automatically detect PC mode/Switch mode. You can manually switch between PC mode, Switch mode, and Dinput mode by pressing and holding [BACK] + [MENU] for 3 seconds.
- With the controller powered off, set the Mode Toggle Switch to the 2.4G position.
- Insert the 2.4G receiver into the USB port of your device. Click the button at the rear of the receiver. The indicator light will flash rapidly, entering pairing mode.
- Press and hold the Home button on the controller for approximately 5 seconds until indicator 1# rapidly flashes, indicating the controller is in pairing mode.
- The controller will automatically pair when brought close to the receiver. Successful pairing is indicated by vibration. The controller's indicator light will stay lit for 3 seconds to display real-time battery status, and the receiver's indicator light at the rear will remain on.
Connecting to PC (Bluetooth)
In PC mode, when connected via Bluetooth, the controller supports native trigger vibration in games (trigger vibration mode needs to be switched to native mode).
- With the controller powered off, set the Mode Toggle Switch to the PC position.
- Press and hold the Home button for approximately 5 seconds until indicator 2# rapidly flashes, indicating the controller is in pairing mode.
- On your Windows system, go to Settings > Devices > Bluetooth & other devices > Add a device > Bluetooth.
- From the list of discovered Bluetooth devices, select "Xbox Wireless Controller". Once successfully paired, the 2# indicator light will stay lit for 3 seconds to display real-time battery status.
Connecting to PC (Wired)
- With the controller powered off, set the Mode Toggle Switch to the PC position.
- Use the provided data cable to directly connect the controller to your PC. It will be ready for use.
Connecting to Nintendo Switch
Features in Switch Mode:
- You can switch to the Switch button layout by long-pressing the combination key FN + A for 3 seconds. The controller will vibrate once as confirmation.
- Supports the Home button to wake up the controller and the remote console.
- Supports gyroscopic function, which needs to be enabled in games that support this feature in their settings.
Bluetooth Connection Steps (Switch)
- With the controller powered off, set the Mode Toggle Switch to the SWITCH position.
- Press and hold the Home button for about 5 seconds until the 3# indicator light rapidly flashes, indicating the controller is in pairing mode.
- On the Switch home screen, open Controller Settings and select "Change Grip/Order", then wait for the controller to appear.
Wired Connection Steps (Switch)
- In the Switch settings, enable the wired controller function.
- Insert the Switch console into the official multifunctional dock.
- With the controller powered off, set the Mode Toggle Switch to the SWITCH position.
- Use the provided data cable to directly connect the controller to the Switch dock. It will be ready for use.
Connecting to Mobile Devices (iOS/Android/Tablet/Huawei Phone)
Bluetooth Connection Steps (Mobile)
- With the controller powered off, set the Mode Toggle Switch to the PHONE position.
- Press and hold the Home button for about 5 seconds until the 4# indicator light rapidly flashes, indicating the controller is in pairing mode.
- Open your device's settings, go to Bluetooth, search for devices, and connect to "Xbox Wireless Controller."
- After successful pairing, the 4# indicator light will stay on for 3 seconds to display real-time battery status.
Operating Instructions
Controller Battery Status Display
- Battery Indicator: The four channel indicator lights display the remaining battery level of the controller.
- Charging Indicator: During the charging process, the corresponding channel indicator light will blink. Once fully charged, all four channel indicator lights will stay on for about 1 minute and then turn off.
- The controller has a built-in 600mAh lithium battery with an estimated battery life of 5-8 hours.
Note: During pairing and some function adjustments, the channel indicator lights will temporarily serve as function indicators. They will return to battery level display after approximately 3 seconds. When using a wired connection, the lights display real-time charging status; in wireless mode, they display real-time battery level.
Combination Buttons
When using combination keys, it is essential to follow the specified button sequence; otherwise, switching may not work correctly.

Note on Trigger Vibration Modes:
- Travel Mode: Trigger vibration intensity follows trigger press depth.
- Native Mode: Only supported for Bluetooth-connected computers, supports native trigger vibration in games.
- Shared Vibration Mode: Trigger vibration intensity follows hand grip vibration intensity.
Note on Light Color: If you adjust the controller's light color in the Keylinker app, it will override the controller's light color. To switch back to the original light, use the controller's light mode combination keys.
Hall System Calibration (Joystick and Trigger)
Important: During calibration, gently move the joystick and lightly press the trigger to their fullest extent to avoid joystick/trigger issues.
- With the controller powered off, press and hold the [BACK] + [Home] + [B] buttons simultaneously to turn on calibration.
- Joystick Calibration: Fully move the joystick left and right slowly, and rotate it more than three times.
- Trigger Calibration: Press the [LT] and [RT] buttons to the bottom more than once.
- Press the [MENU] button to complete the calibration.
Motion Sensing Calibration
- Simultaneously press the [BACK] + [A] + [HOME] buttons to activate the calibration function.
- Place the controller flat on a stable, level tabletop.
- Press the [MENU] button to initiate automatic calibration.
- Wait for the controller to automatically power off. This indicates that the calibration process has been completed.
Advanced Functionality
Programming Buttons Macros
Controller Operation:
- With the controller already connected, simultaneously press the FN key + M1/M2 key. The decorative light strip will continuously flash, indicating that you've entered the recording mode. If it doesn't flash, please repeat this operation.
- Sequentially input the function keys you want to set for the macro.
- After setting is complete, briefly press the corresponding macro key (M1/M2). The decorative light strip backlight will stop flashing and return to the previous mode, indicating that the configuration is complete.
Note: Clearing the current M1 macro definition: While the controller is in working status, simultaneously press FN + M1. The decorative light strip will continuously flash, and then press the M1 key once more. The decorative light strip will stop flashing, clearing the current custom function. The same steps apply to clearing other macro keys.
TURBO Function
Supported TURBO buttons: A/B/X/Y/LB/LT/RB/RT
Manual TURBO Function: When the manual TURBO function is enabled for a button (e.g., A button), you need to manually hold down that button to activate continuous fire.
To enable the TURBO function:
- Press and hold FN + A and then release it. At this point, the A button activates the manual continuous fire function.
- Press FN + A again. Now, the A button activates the automatic continuous fire function.
- Press FN + A once more to disable the continuous fire function.
Note: FN + A/B/X/Y/LB/LT/RB/RT can be used to enable the TURBO function for the corresponding buttons. When buttons are in continuous fire mode, the Home button indicator light will flash in synchronization.
Keylinker App for Customized Functions
For more customized functions and settings, you can adjust them in the Keylinker app.

Keylinker App Connection Steps:
- After correctly installing the Keylinker software on your phone, confirm the relevant permissions prompts that appear when you first start the app.
- Start the controller in any mode, and you can find "G5Pro Max" on the Keylinker app's main page.
- Click "G5Pro Max" to connect and enter the customization interface.
Note: This feature, except for direct connection mode, can be used in any connection mode and can be connected to multiple devices simultaneously. For example, you can change the controller settings on your phone while it is connected to a computer.
Dock Function Introduction
Ensure the charging dock is connected to a power source or device for the following operations to work.
- Light Control Button: Single-click to switch between light modes. Long-press for continuous adjustment of light brightness.
- USB 2.0 Ports: For connecting other devices.
- Type-C Power Input: For powering the dock.
Smart Start and Stop (with Dock)
- When the controller is removed from the dock, it automatically wakes up.
- When the controller is placed on the dock, it enters sleep mode and starts charging.
Light Linkage (with Dock)
When the controller is placed on the dock, the controller's lights can synchronize with the dock's lights. You can also control both the controller and dock lights simultaneously using the controller's combination key [FN] + D-Pad [→] or the dock's light control button.
Maintenance
To ensure the longevity and optimal performance of your MACHENIKE G5 Pro Max Gaming Controller, please follow these general maintenance guidelines:
- Keep the controller and charging dock clean by wiping them with a soft, dry cloth.
- Avoid exposing the device to extreme temperatures, humidity, or direct sunlight.
- Do not use harsh chemicals or abrasive cleaners on the controller.
- Store the controller in a safe place when not in use to prevent accidental damage.
- Avoid dropping or subjecting the controller to strong impacts.
Troubleshooting
Controller Reset
If the controller becomes unresponsive or unable to identify the working mode during operation or access, try the following steps:
- Pull out the USB cable (if connected) and reconnect it.
- Use the manual mode selection to switch to the corresponding working mode.
- If the problem persists, long press the [FN] button for 10 seconds to perform a hard reset.
- Check the compatibility of your operating system and equipment with the controller.
- If the issue still cannot be resolved, please contact customer service.
Common Issues & Solutions
- Controller not pairing: Ensure the controller is in the correct mode (2.4G, PC, Switch, Phone) and in pairing mode (indicator light flashing rapidly). Check your device's Bluetooth settings.
- Vibration not working as expected: Verify the Trigger Vibration Mode settings using the combination buttons. For Native Mode, ensure you are connected to a Bluetooth-enabled PC and the game supports native vibration.
- Joystick drift or inaccurate triggers: Perform the Hall System Calibration as described in the 'Operating Instructions' section.
- Keylinker App not connecting: Ensure the app has all necessary permissions on your phone. Restart both the controller and the app.
