- Measuring Resistance: In multimeter mode, press the 'Ω/OVP' button to cycle through resistance measurement. Connect the test leads across the component to measure its resistance.
- Measuring Continuity: Continue pressing the 'Ω/OVP' button to select continuity test. If the circuit's resistance is less than 50Ω, the buzzer will sound.
- Measuring Diode: Select diode test using the 'Ω/OVP' button. Connect the test leads to the diode to measure its forward voltage drop.
- Measuring Capacitance: Select capacitance measurement using the 'Ω/OVP' button. Connect the test leads to the capacitor to measure its capacitance.
- Measuring Voltage/Current: Use the 'V' or 'I' buttons to select AC or DC voltage/current measurement. Connect the test leads appropriately.

The integrated multimeter is suitable for various applications including battery testing, circuit debugging, and component verification.
6. Maintenance
- Cleaning: Use a soft, dry cloth to clean the exterior of the device. Do not use abrasive cleaners or solvents.
- Storage: Store the device in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures.
- Safety: Always disconnect the power supply before cleaning or performing any maintenance. Do not attempt to open the casing or repair the device yourself. Refer to qualified personnel for servicing.
- Fuse Replacement: If the fuse blows, replace it with one of the same type and rating (e.g., 250V, F5A). Ensure the device is disconnected from power before replacing the fuse.
7. Troubleshooting
- No Power:
- Check if the power cord is securely connected to both the device and the power outlet.
- Verify that the power switch on the rear panel is in the 'ON' position.
- Inspect the fuse on the rear panel. If blown, replace it with a fuse of the correct rating.
- No Output Voltage/Current:
- Ensure the channel output is turned 'ON' using the front panel 'On/Off' button.
- Check if OVP or OCP limits have been triggered. Adjust settings if necessary.
- Verify that the test leads are correctly connected to the output terminals and the load.
- Incorrect Multimeter Readings:
- Ensure the device is in the correct multimeter measurement mode (e.g., Resistance, Capacitance).
- Check the connection of the multimeter leads to the component being measured.
- Verify that the component is not damaged or short-circuited.
- SCPI Communication Issues:
- Ensure the correct USB drivers are installed on your computer.
- Verify that the SCPI software is compatible with the SPM3103 model.
- Check the USB cable connection.
8. User Tips
- Software Compatibility: For advanced control and data logging via SCPI, ensure you download the latest software and drivers from the official OWON website to ensure compatibility with your SPM3103 model.
- Regular Calibration: While the device is factory calibrated, consider periodic calibration for critical applications to maintain measurement accuracy over time.
- Proper Lead Connection: Always double-check the polarity and connection points of your test leads, especially when switching between power supply and multimeter functions, to prevent damage to the device or the circuit under test.
