5. Setup
5.1. Raspberry Pi Installation (3-Step Simple Installation)
The EVICIV UPi B7 (UPi06 Max) is designed for easy integration with your Raspberry Pi. Follow these steps to install your Raspberry Pi into the case:
- Prepare Mini Boards: Use the appropriate mini boards to replace the standard HDMI/mini HDMI and USB-C power cables. These boards are designed to fit directly onto your Raspberry Pi.
- Connect Touch Cables: Connect the touch cables. You have two options: a plug-in alternative for beginners or a soldered alternative for experienced users. Refer to the manual for detailed instructions on connecting the touch cable.
- Secure Raspberry Pi: Carefully place your Raspberry Pi with the connected boards into the case and secure it.

5.2. Initial Connection (1-Cable Easy Connection)
After installing your Raspberry Pi, the monitor simplifies power and display connections:
- Single Cable Power: Once the Raspberry Pi is installed within the case, you only need to power up the UPi B7 (UPi06 Max) with a single cable provided in the package. This cable will supply power to both the monitor and the Raspberry Pi.

5.3. External Device Connection
To use the monitor with other devices (e.g., laptop, game console, smartphone):
- HDMI Connection: Connect your device to the monitor's HDMI port using the provided HDMI cable.
- USB-C Connection: For devices supporting DisplayPort Alternate Mode (Thunderbolt 3 or USB 3.1), connect via the USB-C port using the provided USB-C to USB-C cable. This can provide both video and power with a single cable, depending on your device's capabilities.
- Audio Output: Connect headphones or external speakers to the 3.5mm aux port if desired.
6. Operating Instructions
6.1. Powering On/Off
- Press the Power button (one of the 5 physical buttons) to turn the monitor on or off.
6.2. Menu Navigation
The monitor features 5 physical buttons for navigation:
- Menu: Access the On-Screen Display (OSD) menu.
- Up/Down: Navigate through menu options.
- Exit: Exit the current menu or return to the previous level.
- Power: Power on/off the monitor.
6.3. Touch Functionality
The monitor supports 10-point multi-touch. Ensure the touch cable is correctly connected for this feature to work. Note that touch functionality is not available in portrait mode by default, but can be rotated.
6.4. Vertical Touch Rotation
The UPi B7 (UPi06 Max) allows you to rotate the touch function directly from the menu without modifying configuration files. This is particularly useful for applications requiring a portrait display.
- Access the monitor's OSD menu.
- Navigate to the 'Display' settings.
- Select 'Touch Rotation' and choose your desired orientation (90°/180°/270°).

6.5. Operating System Compatibility

7. Maintenance
7.1. Cleaning
- Always power off and unplug the monitor before cleaning.
- Use a soft, lint-free cloth slightly dampened with water to clean the screen and exterior.
- Do not use alcohol, ammonia-based cleaners, or abrasive materials, as these can damage the screen or casing.
7.2. Cooling System
The monitor features a built-in cooling system with a fan and two-way air vents to dissipate heat from the Raspberry Pi. To ensure optimal performance and longevity:
- Ensure the air vents are not obstructed.
- The cooling fan is set to off by default. You need to turn it on in the monitor's menu for active cooling.
- Exercise caution when opening the back cover to avoid damaging the fan power cable.

8. Troubleshooting
- No Display:
- Ensure all cables (HDMI/USB-C, power) are securely connected.
- Verify the power adapter is functioning and connected to a live outlet.
- Check if the input source on the monitor is correctly selected (if applicable via OSD menu).
- Test with a different HDMI or USB-C cable if possible.
- No Touch Functionality:
- Ensure the touch cable is properly connected to both the monitor and the Raspberry Pi/device.
- For Raspberry Pi, confirm the correct touch driver or configuration is loaded (though it's generally driver-free).
- Note that touch functionality is not available in portrait mode by default, but can be rotated via the menu.
- Overheating:
- Ensure the built-in cooling fan is turned on in the monitor's OSD menu.
- Check that the air vents are clear of obstructions.
- Avoid placing the monitor in direct sunlight or enclosed spaces.
- Image Quality Issues (e.g., blurry, distorted):
- Check the resolution settings on your connected device to ensure it matches the monitor's native resolution (1920x1200).
- Ensure the display cable is not damaged.
- No Sound:
- Verify the volume level on both the monitor and the connected device.
- Ensure the audio output is correctly routed to the monitor from your device.
- If using the 3.5mm aux port, ensure external speakers/headphones are properly connected and functional.
9. User Tips
- Optimal Raspberry Pi Performance: For demanding applications on your Raspberry Pi, ensure the built-in cooling fan is activated in the monitor's menu to prevent thermal throttling.
- Cable Management: Utilize the custom side panels and internal design to keep your Raspberry Pi connections neat and protected within the case.
- Touchscreen Calibration: If touch input feels inaccurate, check your operating system's display settings for touchscreen calibration options.
