1. Introduction

The DBIT AC1200 Dual Band WiFi Repeater is designed to extend the coverage and improve the performance of your existing wireless network. It connects wirelessly to your router, strengthening its signal and expanding its reach into areas that were previously unreachable. This device also helps reduce signal interference, ensuring reliable Wi-Fi coverage throughout your home or office. Featuring 802.11ac technology, it supports both 2.4GHz and 5GHz wireless network connections, with a maximum combined rate of 1200 Mbps. Its 4 high-gain external antennas provide 360-degree signal coverage, eliminating network dead spots.

Important Notes:

• This product is a 1200M WiFi repeater designed for WiFi extension. It requires connection to an active router network. Signal strength improves with closer proximity between the repeater and the router. If disconnected from the router's WiFi, signals may become unstable or drop.
• The product uses an EU standard plug-in power supply and undergoes 100% power-on testing.

The DBIT AC1200M WiFi Repeater offers two primary setup methods: via the WPS button for quick connection or via a web browser for more detailed configuration.

3.1 Method 1: Via the WPS Button (Repeater Mode)

1. Plug the Repeater into an electrical outlet next to your host router.
2. Press the WPS button on your router. The WPS button might look like one of these: (Refer to your router's manual for exact WPS button location)
3. Within 2 minutes, press the WPS button on the extender for 1 second. The WPS LED should change from blinking to solid on, and the repeater restarts, indicating success.

Note: If the WPS LED does not blink, try again or use Method 2. If you cannot find the network names with _EXT in your Wi-Fi network list, try again or use Method 2.

Extended Network Names: Router's network name with _EXT at the end.
Passwords: Same as your router.

3.2 Method 2: Via a Web Browser

This method allows for more control over the repeater's settings and supports Repeater, Router, and AP modes.

General Steps for Phone Users:

1. Find the SSID (Network Name) and Wireless Password printed on the label at the bottom of the router.
2. Connect your smartphone to the extender's network (SSID usually starts with "Wireless2.4G_" or "Wireless5G_").
3. Launch a web browser and enter http://192.168.168.1 in the address bar.

3.2.1 Repeater Mode Setup

1. After logging into the web interface, select "Repeater Mode" and click "Next".
2. Select your host router's 2.4GHz SSID or 5GHz SSID (network name) from the list.
3. Enter your Host router's password.
4. Follow the prompts on the page to complete the Repeater mode configuration.
5. Note down your extended network information and finish the step.
6. Connect to the extended network and enjoy internet. The extended network shares the same wireless password as that of your host network, but may have a different network name if you have customized the SSID during the configuration.

1. Connect the hardware: Connect the WAN port to your DSL/Cable modem or Ethernet jack.
2. Connect your computer to the router (wired or wireless).
3. Launch a web browser and enter http://192.168.168.1 in the address bar.

5. You can modify the settings according to the service information provided by your ISP (Internet Service Provider). Choose your Internet Type: Dynamic IP (Auto), Static IP, or PPPoE (ADSL dialing).

5. Either keep the default 2G SSID and 5G SSID and Password or customize them for the wireless access point.

7. Connect to the extended networks (default SSID and password) and enjoy internet. The network name and password may differ if customized during configuration.

• Router Mode: Creates an instant private wireless AC network, suitable for connecting directly to a modem and distributing internet access.

• Optimal Placement: To achieve the best signal strength and range, place the repeater in a location that is roughly halfway between your main router and the area where you need improved Wi-Fi. The intelligent signal light can help you find the best location. Avoid placing it too far from the host router, as this can lead to unstable or dropped signals.
• Minimize Interference: Choose a location that is far away from Bluetooth devices and other household electronic devices, such as cordless phones, microwave ovens, and baby monitors, to minimize signal interference.
• Password Management: When setting up Repeater Mode via a web browser, you must initially enter your router's wireless password. You can then choose to set a custom password for the extended Wi-Fi network or leave it unsecured, in which case it will inherit the router's password.
• Resetting the Device: If you need to reset the repeater to its factory default settings, ensure it is powered on, then use a pin to press and hold the RESET button (located in a tiny hole) for approximately 8-10 seconds. The device will reboot.

• If the computer is set to a static or fixed IP address, change the setting to obtain an IP address automatically.

• Reboot your router and try again.
• Disable the network adapter currently in use and then enable it again.

• Check if the internet is working properly by connecting a computer directly to the modem via an Ethernet cable. If not, contact your internet provider.

Q3. How do I restore the router to its factory default setting?

• While the router is powered on, press and hold the reset button on the rear panel of the router for approximately 5-8 seconds. The wireless router will reboot.

Q4. Why is setting the repeater mode unsuccessful?

• You may have typed in the router's wireless password incorrectly; please log in and check the wireless password.
• The Mini router may be out of range; please move it closer to the router.
• Please reset the Mini Router and go through the configuration again.
• If you need to reset the extender, you need to press and hold the reset button inside the tiny hole for 8-10 seconds.
