1. Introduction
This infrared thermometer is designed for non-contact temperature measurement of object surfaces. It is suitable for various hot, hazardous, or hard-to-reach objects, providing safe and quick temperature readings. The unit consists of Optics, a Temperature Sensor, a Signal Amplifier, a Processing Circuit, and an LCD Display. The Optics collect infrared energy emitted by the object and focus it onto the Sensor. The sensor then translates this energy into an electrical signal, which is converted into a digital reading shown on the LCD after amplification and processing.

2. Safety Warnings & Cautions
2.1. Warnings
- To avoid potential harm or damage, always check the plastic housing for any damage before use. Do not use if damaged.
- Do not point the laser directly at eyes or indirectly off reflective surfaces.
- Do not use this unit in environments with explosive gas, steam, or dust.
2.2. Cautions
- Avoid exposure to strong electromagnetic fields (EMF) from sources like arc welders or induction heaters, as this can damage the unit or affect measurements.
- Thermal shock: If the unit is moved from an environment with a large or abrupt temperature change, allow 30 minutes for the unit to stabilize before use.
- Do not leave the unit on or near objects of high temperature.

- Close the battery compartment lid securely.
5. Operation
5.1. Taking a Measurement
- Point the thermometer at the target surface.
- Pull and hold the trigger to begin scanning. The "SCAN" icon will appear on the LCD.
- The temperature reading will be displayed on the LCD.
- Release the trigger to hold the reading (indicated by "HOLD" icon) for approximately 7 seconds before auto power-off.
5.2. Unit Conversion (°C/°F)
Press the °C/°F switch button to toggle between Celsius and Fahrenheit temperature units.
5.3. Backlight Control
Press the backlight on/off button to turn the screen backlight on or off, improving readability in dark environments.

5.4. Laser Pointer
The unit is equipped with a laser for aiming. Press the laser on/off button to activate or deactivate the laser pointer.

5.5. Distance to Spot Size (D:S Ratio)
The D:S ratio is 12:1. This means that as the distance (D) from the target surface increases, the spot size (S) of the area being measured by the unit also increases. For accurate measurements, ensure the target is larger than the unit's spot size. If the target is small, measure from a closer distance. For critical accuracy, the target should be at least twice as large as the spot size.

5.6. Emissivity
Most organic materials and painted or oxidized surfaces have an emissivity of 0.95 (pre-set in the unit). Inaccurate readings may result from measuring shiny or polished metal surfaces. To compensate, cover the target surface with masking tape or flat black paint. Measure the tape or painted surface when it reaches the same temperature as the material underneath.
5.7. Locating a Hot Spot
To find a hot spot, aim the thermometer outside the area of interest, then scan across with an up and down motion until you locate the hottest point.
5.8. Water/Oil Temperature Measurement
When measuring boiling liquids, do not let smoke and water vapor come into contact with the temperature sensing area. The recommended measurement angle is between 45° and 60° to avoid incorrect readings caused by steam.

Attention: This product is an industrial thermometer and cannot be used to measure the body temperature of animals, adults, and children!
6. Maintenance
6.1. Lens Cleaning
- Blow off loose particles using clean compressed air.
- Gently brush remaining debris away with a moist cotton swab. The swab may be moistened with water.
6.2. Case Cleaning
- Clean the case with a damp sponge/cloth and mild soap.
6.3. Important Notes for Cleaning
- Do not use solvent to clean plastic lens.
- Do not submerge the unit in water.
7. Troubleshooting
If the thermometer is not providing accurate readings or is displaying only room temperature, check the following:
- Battery Level: Check the low battery icon on the LCD. Replace batteries if indicated.
- Thermal Shock: Ensure the device has acclimatized to the ambient temperature for at least 30 minutes if moved from a significantly different temperature environment.
- Obstructions: Ensure the sensor lens is clean and free from dust, debris, or condensation.
- Measurement Angle/Distance: Verify that the measurement angle for liquids is correct (45-60 degrees) and that the distance to spot size ratio is appropriate for the target.
- Emissivity: For shiny or polished surfaces, consider applying masking tape or flat black paint to the target area to improve reading accuracy.

9. User Tips
- Consistent Readings: If the device consistently shows only room temperature or inaccurate readings, first check the battery level and replace if necessary. Also, ensure the sensor lens is clean and free from any obstructions.
- Environmental Acclimatization: Allow the thermometer to sit in the measurement environment for about 30 minutes before use, especially if moving between areas with significant temperature differences. This helps prevent thermal shock from affecting readings.
- Proper Aiming: Always use the laser pointer to ensure you are targeting the correct spot. Remember the 12:1 D:S ratio for optimal accuracy.
