5. Setup

Ensure the trimmer is switched OFF before performing any setup procedures.

5.1 How to Install and Remove the Blade

To Remove the Blade:

  1. Press the top of the blade and hold firmly.
  2. Remove the blade by pushing it in the opposite direction of the arrow. Use your other hand to prevent the ceramic blade from falling.

To Insert the Blade:

  1. Align the underside of the blade to the unit.
  2. Press the top side of the blade downwards until it locks into place with a "click".

5.2 How to Install and Remove Guide Combs

To Install a Guide Comb:

  1. Align the cutting head and move it backwards.
  2. Align the loops on the trunk of the trimmer.
  3. Once aligned, press carefully on the border comb to install it successfully until you hear a "click".

To Remove a Guide Comb:

  1. Hold the trimmer firmly.
  2. Push the comb outwards with your thumb from the designated area until it detaches.

6. Operating Instructions

6.1 Power On/Off and Travel Lock

  • Power On/Off: A short press of the power button will switch the device on or off.
  • Activating Travel Lock: Long press the power button for 3 seconds. The display will show a countdown (1→2→3→3) indicating the lock is active. This prevents accidental activation during travel.
  • Deactivating Travel Lock: While the device is locked, long press the power button for 3 seconds. The display will show a reverse countdown (3→2→1) and the lock will deactivate.

6.2 How to Shave Unwanted Hair

  1. Attach the desired guide comb (3mm or 6mm) if you wish to trim to a specific length. For closest shave, use without a comb.
  2. Press the power button to turn on the shaver. The LED light will illuminate automatically (it cannot be turned off while operating).
  3. Gently glide the trimmer against the direction of hair growth.
  4. For specific body areas:
    • Armpit: Lift the arm to stretch the skin, and shave from various directions.
    • Legs: Shave from ankle to knee, against the flow of hair.
    • Arms: Shave from outside to inside, against the flow of hair.
    • Haircut: For trimming hair ends, move from top to bottom. For cutting hair upwards, attach a comb and move from bottom to top.
  5. After use, press the power button to turn off the device.

7. Maintenance

Regular cleaning and maintenance will ensure the longevity and optimal performance of your Kensen S5 trimmer.

7.1 Cleaning Instructions

  1. Disconnect the power cable from the trimmer.
  2. Remove the blade head as described in Section 5.1.
  3. Use the included cleaning brush to remove any accumulated hair debris from the blade and the trimmer body.
  4. Wash the blade head under running or lukewarm water. The trimmer body is IPX7 waterproof, allowing direct rinsing, but do not submerge the entire unit in water to prevent malfunction.
  5. After cleaning with water, wipe off any water droplets with a towel and allow it to air dry naturally.
  6. Once dry, apply 1 drop of commercial razor oil to each of the five metal parts of the blade marked with arrows. Turn on the trimmer for 10 seconds to distribute the oil, then turn it off. Wipe away any excess oil with tissue paper.
  7. Reattach the blade head to the trimmer body.

Important Cleaning Notes:

  • Do not clean the unit with thinner, benzene, or alcohol.
  • For hygienic cleaning, moisten the outer blade with water and apply hand soap (commercially available) or a cleaning solution.

7.2 Storage

  • Store the product in a dry and safe place.
  • Use, charge, and store this product at ambient temperatures from 5℃ to 35℃.
  • Do not expose to direct sunlight or leave the product in a car in summer.

8. Charging

  • When the battery level is low (e.g., 10% or less), the charging symbol on the display will flash.
  • During charging, the charging symbol lights up red, and the remaining battery level will flash.
  • Once fully charged, the battery level indicator will show 100%.
  • A full charge takes approximately 90 minutes.
  • A fully charged battery provides up to 100 minutes of continuous use.
  • Please recharge the battery before using it for the first time or if it has not been used for a long period.
  • To protect the built-in battery, charge it once a month even if it is not used for an extended period.
  • Before charging, ensure the charging port is clean and dry.
  • Always use the included Type-C USB cable for charging. Do not charge in wet conditions or in a bathroom.
