3. Setup and Powering On

3.1 Powering the Device

  • ET32C Model: This model features a built-in 4.2V lithium battery. Charge the device using the provided Type-C USB cable.
  • ET31C Model: This model is powered by 3 x 1.5V AAA batteries (not included). Open the battery compartment on the back of the device and insert the batteries, observing correct polarity.

3.2 Connecting Test Leads

Connect the red test lead to the VΩHz input jack and the black test lead to the COM input jack for multimeter functions. For signal output, connect the leads to the VΩHz and V-Ω-OUT jacks as required by the specific function.

4. Operating Instructions

4.1 Device Interface and Buttons

The device features a 2.8-inch 320x480 resolution display. Screen brightness is adjustable from 5% to 100%.

  • USB Charging Interface: (Only for ET32C) Located on the side for charging.
  • 2.8-inch HD Display: Main screen for displaying readings and settings.

4.2 Signal Generator Functions

4.2.1 Adjustable Signal Parameters

The output frequency is adjustable from 1Hz to 9999Hz, and the output amplitude (peak-to-peak voltage) is adjustable from -12V to +12V.

4.2.2 Multiple Signal Output

The device can generate sine wave, square wave, combined wave, scanning wave, and DC wave signals.

4.2.3 Automotive Signal Simulation

Simulate Hall type and magnetoelectric crankshaft signals and cam signals for gasoline and diesel vehicles.

4.2.4 Combined Wave Output (Missing Teeth Signal)

The missing tooth signal can be set arbitrarily (e.g., combined wave 58+2, 10+1) without connecting to a computer. The maximum number of combined waves can be set to 99+99.

4.2.5 Scanning Wave Signal Output

Output scanning waves to simulate the process of crankshaft cam signals running from low speed to high speed.

4.2.6 Voltage Output

Analog voltage output is adjustable from -12V to +12V, with a step value of 1V.

4.2.7 Coil Control

Supports ignition coil control, solenoid valve control, and relay control (only supports coil control of 30V/1A and below).

4.2.8 Signal Storage and Loading

The instrument supports 50 groups of signal waveform storage. Waveforms can be saved to specified locations and loaded later.

5. Maintenance

  • Battery Care (ET31C): Remove AAA batteries if the device will not be used for an extended period to prevent leakage.
  • Battery Care (ET32C): Recharge the built-in lithium battery regularly to maintain its lifespan, even if not in frequent use.
  • Test Leads: Inspect test leads and crocodile clamps regularly for any signs of wear or damage. Replace if necessary.

6. Troubleshooting

  • Device does not power on:
    • For ET31C, check if AAA batteries are inserted correctly and have sufficient charge.
    • For ET32C, ensure the built-in battery is charged. Connect to a USB power source.
  • No signal output:
    • Verify that the correct signal type and parameters are selected.
    • Check connections of test leads to the output jacks.
    • Ensure the 'Output' function is enabled on the screen.
  • Multimeter readings are inaccurate:
    • Ensure test leads are properly connected to the correct input jacks (VΩHz and COM).
    • Check if the correct measurement mode is selected.
    • Verify that the test leads are not damaged or corroded.
  • Screen is dim or unresponsive:
    • Adjust screen brightness settings.
    • Ensure sufficient battery charge.
