3. Setup and Installation

Follow these steps to set up and install your CPVAN GB010 Vibrating Detector:

  1. Open Housing: Gently open the detector's housing. The upper apex can be pushed slightly to release the cover.
  2. Install Battery: Insert the provided 23A 12V battery into the battery compartment, ensuring correct polarity.
  3. Add Sensor to Alarm Panel: Pair the sensor with your CP10 Pro home alarm system according to your alarm panel's instructions. This typically involves putting the panel into 'learning' or 'add sensor' mode and then triggering the sensor (e.g., by pressing the emergency button or causing a vibration).
  4. Apply Double-Sided Tape: Attach the included double-sided tape to the back of the detector.
  5. Mount Detector: Firmly stick the detector onto the desired surface, such as a window pane or door frame. Ensure the surface is clean and dry for optimal adhesion.
  6. Test System: Verify that the alarm host receives notifications when the sensor detects a vibration or when the emergency button is pressed.

4. Operation

Once installed and paired with your CP10 Pro alarm system, the GB010 detector operates as follows:

  • Vibration Detection: When the alarm system is armed, any significant vibration detected by the sensor will trigger an alarm. The sensor will send a signal to the CP10 Pro alarm panel.
  • Alarm Response: The alarm panel will activate its siren, and if configured, send notifications to your linked mobile application.
  • Emergency SOS: In case of an emergency, you can manually activate an SOS alarm by pressing the concealed emergency button on the side of the detector. This will immediately alert the alarm system.
  • Alarm Indicator: The small indicator light on the sensor will illuminate when an alarm is triggered or during certain operational states.

5. Maintenance

  • Battery Replacement: The detector uses a 23A 12V battery. When the battery is low, the alarm panel may indicate a low battery status for the sensor. Replace the battery promptly to ensure continuous protection. Refer to the 'Setup and Installation' section for instructions on opening the housing.
  • Cleaning: Wipe the detector with a soft, dry cloth to remove dust or dirt. Do not use abrasive cleaners or solvents, as these may damage the device.
  • Adhesion Check: Periodically check the double-sided tape to ensure the detector remains firmly attached to the surface. Reapply tape if necessary.

6. Troubleshooting

Problem Possible Cause Solution
Sensor not triggering alarm Low or dead battery; Sensor not paired correctly; Sensor too far from alarm panel; Insufficient vibration. Replace 23A 12V battery; Re-pair sensor with alarm panel; Relocate sensor closer to panel; Test with stronger vibration.
False alarms Sensor sensitivity too high (if adjustable); Loose mounting; Environmental factors (e.g., strong winds, heavy traffic). Check alarm panel settings for sensitivity adjustment (if available); Ensure sensor is firmly mounted; Consider alternative mounting locations.
SOS button not working Low or dead battery; Sensor not paired correctly. Replace 23A 12V battery; Re-pair sensor with alarm panel.
